On deadline day, the club signed Galeno, a Brazilian winger, and Firmino has been axed to make way for him. Saudi clubs are allowed 10 foreign players, and two must be under the age of 21. Riyad Mahrez and Ivan Toney are registered but now Firmino has dropped out.

Giggs opens up on Rashford's loan move

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs believes that Marcus Rashford must rediscover his love of football if he is to succeed at Aston Villa.

Speaking to The Sun, Giggs said: "United need young players coming through, one of their own and it just felt that he was the next one. But for whatever reason, he’s had a decent career but he’s never gone on to be what I thought he would be. More so than anything, he’s a human being and he just doesn’t look happy. He looks like he’s got the world on his shoulders. And I don’t know why, because the lad who I saw and who I coached didn’t have the world on his shoulders. He just played with freedom, he loved the club and was a great lad but he just doesn’t look it now. Hopefully, he will find where he was ten years ago and never forget that it is the best job in the world. You should enjoy it because it will soon be over — you’ve got to try to enjoy every minute of it. He needs to play with that freedom and that enjoyment that got him to where he is now — and hopefully he does that."

Bayern aim to beat Man City & Real Madrid to Wirtz

Speaking to Sky Sports, Bayern president Herbert Hainer said: "You can always dream." Club CEO Dreesen added: "Uli said that without a time frame. Florian Wirtz is one of the best German players - and you know how we have handled it in recent years: We want the best players to be with us. And that is why Uli is certainly right."

Sporting director Max Eberl then said: "If I am correctly informed, the player does not have an exit clause. We have to make sure that our finances are in order and we want to make internal transfers first. Then we will see what is possible in the summer."

De Zerbi explains why Marseille snubbed Pogba

Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi has explained that the club opted against signing Paul Pogba because he did not want to "unbalance" his squad.

Speaking to reporters, De Zerbi said: "The balance of the dressing room, nobody could change it. Nobody will unbalance my dressing room as long as I am [the] coach. That was not the problem. Pogba is a very great player, but we had to understand where we could use him once he was available to play, in what role, what position. The more champions there are, the happier I am, that wasn't it. It was a general assessment and maybe it will change but at the moment we made this decision due to several factors."

Hopefully, he gets a lot of playing time. That's what he needs. He needs to develop and experience the highs and lows on the pitch. I know Tottenham well, they will look after him well. Hopefully, he does well there. He should show what he can do at the highest level."

Diomande’s contract includes an €80 million (£66.6m, $82.6m) buyout clause, but Chelsea’s recruitment team, led by Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, are optimistic about negotiating a reduced price. Juventus open to summer offers for Vlahovic
