Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd medical booked, Tottenham agree deal, Watkins to Arsenal
{by} Express.co.uk

Manchester United have plenty of business to tie up before Monday’s transfer deadline, with Patrick Dorgu closing in on a move to Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford appears to be heading for the exit after facing the wrath of Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim, while Alejandro Garnacho could also be set to depart.

Chelsea are in the mix for new signings and could rival Napoli for Garnacho. The Blues are also chasing the signature of Bayern Munich winger Mathys Tel.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are desperate to land a new forward as they attempt to deal with the absence of Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka.

Tottenham also need to bolster their squad after suffering a woeful season in the Premier League under Ange Postecoglou.

And Liverpool will also be on the lookout for any late deals that can keep them ahead of their rivals in the race for title glory.

Elsewhere, Manchester City have already snapped up a host of players after suffering a downturn of fortunes this term.

Mathys Tel speaks out on Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal move

Mathys Tel admits he is unsure about his future.

The Bayern Munich star, 19, has been linked with Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham.

He has struggled for game time at Bayern this season, although he did earn a rare start in their Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava.

Asked afterwards about a potential move away from Bavaria, Tel told Sky Germany: "I don't know."

Director of Sport Max Eberl says Tel has asked to leave the club.

He revealed: “We spoke in December and Mathys said he wanted to settle down. Now he says he wants to leave.

"We have to think about whether we will do that and what we will do.

“He said that the playing time was not enough for him and that is understandable. However, we would like him to keep fighting. There is no bad blood.

"I can understand him. I have rarely had so many clubs call me about a player before.”

Liverpool working on transfers

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has insisted the Reds are planning to strengthen their squad in the summer after another quiet transfer window.

The Dutchman told Gary Lineker during an interview with the BBC’s Football Focus: “It’s maybe harder if you go to a club where everybody expects you to win, win, win, win, win and you look at the group of players you feel like, ‘This is going to be difficult’. But that’s obviously not the situation over here.

“I know people sometimes question this because they haven't seen us doing a lot in the transfer market in the summer and now in the winter as well. There's a reason for that - because we're happy with the squad.

“But I do know in the background we are definitely working on strengthening in the summer.”

Chelsea make goalkeeper decision

Chelsea have decided not to sign a replacement for Robert Sanchez in the current transfer window, according to reports. Sanchez has had a challenging time at Stamford Bridge since his £25million move from Brighton in the summer of 2023.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been underwhelming, leading the chart for errors resulting in shots (seven) and goals (five). One such error occurred in Saturday's defeat to Manchester City, where he lost possession 19 times.

According to The Times, the Blues are not in the market for another goalkeeper, focusing instead on bolstering their attack.

Dorgu medical booked

Lecce wing-back Patrick Dorgu will undergo medical tests tomorrow ahead of his move to Manchester United, according to Fabrizio Romano.

A verbal agreement was reached yesterday, with the transfer expert stating that United will pay £25million up front plus another £4m for the player.

Dorgu is set to fly to Manchester with his agents to complete the move.
