Transfer news: Man Utd medical booked as Arsenal plot raid on Premier League rivals
{by} Express.co.uk

The January transfer window is officially open and Premier League clubs are free to do mid-season business to strengthen their squads.

Manchester United are one of the clubs hoping to be busy but face Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) concerns which could complicate matters for Ruben Amorim somewhat.

There will be much talk about Man Utd and Mohamed Salah throughout January

Another popular topic throughout the winter window will be the future of the Premier League's top goalscorer - Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian is out of contract in the summer and is now allowed to talk to overseas clubs over a pre-contract agreement to join a non-domestic club in July.

Newcastle keeping tabs on Dibling

Newcastle are weighing up a potential move for Southampton starlet Tyler Dibling, according to Mail+.

The teenage forward has caught the eye with his impressive displays for the Saints, who have otherwise been poor this season.

It is said that Newcastle are likely to delay their pursuit until the summer, as opposed to trying to sign him this month.

Dibling nearly joined the Magpies two years ago but eventually opted for Chelsea, only to return to Southampton eight weeks later.

Five clubs want Evan Ferguson on loan

Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs battling to sign Evan Ferguson on loan from Brighton, according to TBR Football.

The report states that West Ham, Fulham and Manchester City have also been keeping tabs on Ferguson's situation.

He has only started four league games for Brighton this season, with Danny Welbeck and Joao Pedro preferred up front.

It is said the Seagulls would be open to loaning him out with an option to make the move permanent in the summer.

Tottenham keen on Sam Johnstone

Tottenham are weighing up a move for Wolves goalkeeper Sam Johnstone to provide cover for the injured Guglielmo Vicario.

That's according to football.london, who are reporting that Johnstone is one of several targets under consideration.

It remains to be seen if Wolves would be willing to sell, having signed the 31-year-old for around £10m last summer.

He has recently been displaced by Jose Sa between the sticks and is now their second-choice goalkeeper.

Marcus Rashford 'rejects three offers' from Saudi Arabia

Marcus Rashford has turned down three big-money proposals from clubs in Saudi Arabia, according to the Daily Mail.

The report states that offers worth up to £35m per year have been put on the table.

Rashford is said to have rejected all of them, with the forward only wanting to play in a 'competitive' league.

A move to Saudi Arabia could ruin his chances of making future England squads, something he is looking to avoid.

Arsenal urged to break bank for Alexander Isak

Paul Merson wants Arsenal to sign Alexander Isak before the end of the window, no matter how much it would cost.

The prolific Swedish forward is reportedly valued at £150m, essentially making a January move a non-starter.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson said: "If I was Arsenal and I had the money, I would go and buy Isak. I would break the bank for him.

"I think he is the best of the best. I think he takes Arsenal to another level. I am looking at the all-round picture and next season as well.

"I think if they can get hold of Isak, who I think is the best in the business at the moment, that will be a massive coup for Arsenal."
