Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is reportedly set to end his tenure at Old Trafford and is ready to agree a move to the Saudi Pro League.
- Casemiro agrees to Man Utd January exit
- Saudi Pro League clubs interested in midfielder
- Saudi clubs still have to figure registration issue
WHAT HAPPENED?
Casemiro joined Manchester United from Real Madrid in the summer of 2022 in what was expected to be a major step for the Red Devils towards improving their dwindling fortunes. However, the five-time Champions League winner has not been able to replicate his Los Blancos form at Old Trafford and is no longer in Ruben Amorim's plans for the future.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
As per Brazilian outlet UOL, Casemiro has now agreed to leave Manchester United during the January transfer window, and the former Real Madrid midfielder has received a lot of interest from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) for either Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal, Al-Ahli or Al-Ettifaq. Meanwhile Saudi Pro League newcomers Al-Qadsiyah are also interested.
DID YOU KNOW?
However, the Saudi Pro League clubs will still have to figure out how to sign Casemiro as the SPL announced that none of their clubs have any vacant spots left for foreign players, and will have to sell or de-register one of their current players to sign the Brazilian in January.
WHAT NEXT FOR CASEMIRO?
Fans will have to wait and see if Casemiro does indeed leave the club in January. The Brazilian was part of a dismal United performance against Newcastle last time out and may drop out of the team once again on Sunday when the Red Devils take on Liverpool.
