Liverpool will have to pay a fee of £40-50million to sign Antonee Robinson in January, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed that the 27-year-old is high on the Reds' list of targets and impressed many with his outstanding double-assist performance at Anfield.
This comes after former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool view Robinson as "the ideal signing" ahead of next month's transfer window.
However, sources say they have been joined by the likes of Man City, Man United and Arsenal in the running for his signature after an impressive season so far.
As things stand, he remains a key part of Marco Silva's side after picking up six assists in 16 league appearances, having started every game.
The left-back's contract at Craven Cottage is set to run until 2028, meaning Fulham hold the cards over his future at the club and will demand "huge" money to see him leave.
Liverpool told to pay up to £50m to sign Antonee Robinson from Fulham
Liverpool have begun targeting potential long-term options to replace Andy Robertson amid growing concerns about his performances so far this season.
Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez has also been identified as a potential replacement, although competition for his signature is also expected to be high.
However, it's Robinson whose name continues to pop up in conversations about left-backs, with his displays this season cementing him among the league's best in his position.
Despite interest from their rivals, Liverpool have been the most heavily linked with the American who came through the academy system across the city at Goodison Park.
As a result, a return to Merseyside could be on the cards if the club are willing to match his asking price.
Sources have previously told Football Insider that any deal for the left-back is more likely to take place in the summer than in January as Fulham remain reluctant to see hm leave mid-season.
