Injured Harry Kane returned to Bayern Munich training ahead of the club's final game of 2024.
- Kane back in Bayern training
- Missed the club's last four games due to injury
- Bayern face RB Leipzig in final match of 2024
WHAT HAPPENED?
Kane, who picked up a muscle injury during the club's Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund, has missed Bayern's last four games across all competitions. However, Sky Sport Germany reports that the English striker has finally rejoined the first-team training ahead of their final game of the year against RB Leipzig on Friday.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Kane's return will be a huge boost for manager Vincent Kompany as the club's attack looked toothless in his absence. Without the English forward, the Bavarian won two and lost two out of their last four outings which includes a defeat against Mainz in the Bundesliga, their first league defeat of the 2024-25 campaign. They were also eliminated from the DFB-Pokal after going down against reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen.
DID YOU KNOW?
Bayern are also boosted by the return of three more star players as Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry and Alphonso Davies returned to training. While Davies and Coman suffered torn thigh muscles against Heidenheim, Gnabry missed the last four outings of his club due to a knock.
WHAT NEXT FOR BAYERN?
There were speculations over Bayern's transfer plan in the January transfer window and whether the club would sign a backup for Kane, however, sporting director Max Eberl refuted the rumours in a recent interaction with Sky.
