Leandro Trossard celebrated his birthday in style
Boss Mikel Arteta didn't allow sentiment to affect his team selection, with birthday boy Trossard left on the bench.
But the attacker did come on for Gabriel Martinelli with 20 minutes remaining, helping his side get over the line.
With three points in the bag, Trossard was able to celebrate his birthday in style.
His wife Laura shared a video clip from the subsequent birthday party to her Instagram story.
In the clip, a giant birthday cake was placed on the table.
Huge balloons spelled out "30".
While there were even guests holding cardboard cutouts of Trossard's face.
As the scene unfolded, pals began joyously chanting Trossard's name.
Laura captioned her post "birthday celebrations".
The pair have been in a relationship since 2014, and tied the knot five years later.
Trossard is enjoying another productive season at Arsenal.
He has featured in all of their Premier League and Champions League matches thus far.
The attacker has so far scored three Prem goals this term, with a further strike in the Champions League.
He is set to be in back in action on Sunday, as the Gunners take on Fulham at Craven Cottage.
