Fylde bounced back from last week’s 5-0 home defeat to Altrincham with a 3-0 win against high-flying Gateshead.
Kevin Phillips’ side had soaked up early pressure and hit Gateshead on the break, with Tyler Roberts neatly converting Jonathan Ustabasi’s cross in the 30th minute.
Gateshead midfielder Callum Whelan twice went close for his side early in the second half, but Fylde doubled their lead in the 77th minute.
Roberts cut the ball back into the penalty area and former Colchester striker Gavin Massey, who had stepped off the bench three minutes earlier, steered home his side’s second goal with his first touch.
Fylde completed the scoring in the 81st minute when Ustabasi picked out Nick Haughton, who buried his shot into the top corner.
