Football fans have named new US President Donald Trump as a celebrity they'd like to purchase their club.
Trump won the 2024 US election on Wednesday (November 6) after picking up key victories in swing states such as Pennsylvania and North Carolina. And it's not just in politics where he's running succesful campaigns, with football fans admitting they wouldn't mind him calling the shots.
According to research from Casino.org, football fans named him as the seventh most popular celebrity they would like to takeover, beating the likes of Jeff Bezos, The Rock, and budding-footballer-turned-TV-chef Gordon Ramsay.
Trump does have experience in running a sports team having previously owned American football team the New Jersey Generals in the 1980s.
And he once hatched an ambitious plan to takeover Ranger at the peak of their financial crisis - it was only after seeing the true extent of the crisis did the American pull the plug on the deal.

Elon Musk, the majority stakeholder in Tesla and now the owner of X, was the No.1 choice among fans with 8.9% of fans picking the South African. This makes financial sense due to Musk being the richest person in the world with a net worth of approximately £205b.
There had been rumours previously of Musk buying Manchester United; that's if you can call it a rumour. Musk took to what was Twitter to tell his 100million followers: "Also, I'm buying Manchester United ur welcome."
Hours later, after news organisations across the world went into frenzy, Musk tweeted again saying: "No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I'm not buying any sports team."
Musk and Trump are very close friends, and the former was present at Trump's victory rally at West Palm Beach in the early hours of Wednesday morning. Trump presented Musk to the crowd - where he hailed him as a "super genius".
