Manager Mark Kennedy wants Swindon’s decision-making to improve after the 2-1 defeat at Salford kept them only three points above the relegation zone.
Swindon found themselves behind after just three minutes thanks to a Kelly N’Mai goal but were dragged level through Harry Smith.
Ultimately they fell to their sixth league defeat of the season, with a poor clearance emphatically pounced on by Jon Taylor.
Kennedy said: “We had good moments in the game but unfortunately we found a way to lose the game and the decision-making just leaves me scratching my head a little.
“In this season, in the games we have lost I don’t feel like, with the exception of Walsall, I don’t think anyone has come and beat us.
“In the games we have lost, I think Darren (Moore) from Port Vale, Grant (McCann) from Doncaster and Karl Robinson tonight, when I think what they will think I keep coming up with the same answer, ‘they were lucky to beat us, they didn’t half help us’.
“That is something we need to change quickly. I am really proud to work for the club, whether I am here tomorrow or for 10 years, it is a brilliant club.
“My conversations are with someone who is really passionate about his club and it has been nothing but supportive.
“Worrying about tomorrow ruins today and I can only control the controllables, so most of this is a completely hypothetical question.”
Heading into the game, Salford were also looking over their shoulder as they had scored the second-fewest amount of goals in the division but Robinson believes they have the firepower to kick on.
He said: “We need to start scoring more goals, I am not going to hide. I thought tonight would have been our opportunity but it wasn’t the case.
“There are so many things that can go right and wrong, we need to make sure we put teams to bed.
“This could have been a night where you draw or even lose because of the quality the opposition possesses.
“We had a chance to make it 3-1 or 4-1 but it didn’t happen against a very well-coached team. I was really worried about coming into this game.
“We looked free-flowing and we really worked on a pressing angle.
“We have now taken four points from six and we will look to take seven from nine and that will propel us into a really good position because our performances deserve to be far higher than where we are.”
