Man City may target Martin Zubimendi after Rodri injury
Manchester City are reportedly considering a move for Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi as they try to find cover for the injured Rodri.
Speculation has mounted that City will look to sign a defensive midfielder in January after talisman Rodri was ruled out for the season through injury. Now, according to Spanish Publication Relevo, Pep Guardiola's team 'want to take advantage' of Zubimendi's £50.3m ($65.8m/€60m) release clause and make a move for him in a few months - with the 25-year-old yet to sign a new contract with the Liga team.
Jarrell Quansah opens up after signing new Liverpool contract
Speaking to Liverpool's club media, Quansah said: “I couldn’t be happier at this minute.
“I think the way the new manager has come in, his coaching style has definitely been a massive part of that and I think it is the best club in the world for me to develop at and become a better player.
“I think the players around me, who I’m looking to work hard off and listen to, I think they’re the best in the position at the minute. So, like I said, there is probably no better place I could be.”
Torino respond to Man CIty interest in Ricci
Manchester City are reportedly interested in Torino's Samuele Ricci and the Serie A club's director Davide Vagnati has respnded to the interest.
Speaking to Sky Italia, Vagnati said: "I won’t comment on Manchester City.
“What I can say is that we signed Ricci when he was very young and it was an important investment, we and the President believed in him and spent big money for this player.
"He believed in his work, has improved a great deal physically, he already had the vision, and I think he is capable of playing for any coach or club."
Michael Zorc could return to Dortmund in new role
Borussia Dortmund announced that former sporting director Michael Zorc might rejoin the team as a supervisory board member. Due to their decision to retire, two existing supervisory board members will not be seeking reelection. When Dortmund holds its annual general assembly in November, Zorc will be running for the board.
Since leaving Dortmund in 2022, Zorc has been a member of the supervisory board of Dortmund-based company Adesso SE.
Barcelona to compete with Arsenal for Lille forward David
After Arsenal's interest in Canada international Jonathan David, Barcelona have now emerged as the latest club who are keen on signing the forward, according to Todo Fichajes.
David, who has scored 92 goals in 194 matches for the Ligue 1 side since joining them in 2020, has performed consistently this season and has attracted interest from several top European clubs.

Per Fichajes, Aston Villa are looking to further bolster their backline as they are reportedly eyeing a move for Aston Villa centre-back Pau Torres. The report further adds that the Red Devils are prepared to offer a whopping €50m to secure the Spanish defender's services.

Manchester United reportedly have their sights set on former Chelsea and Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel, ahead of imminent crunch talks with under-fire coach Erik ten Hag, according to Manchester Evening News. MLS clubs show interest in Juventus' Pogba
Per Gazzetta dello Sport, Paul Pogba may be offered the chance to join Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi in the USA, with MLS clubs reportedly keen on the Juventus midfielder.
Pogba, who was handed a four-year suspension from all football-related activity following supposed breaches of doping protocols, is hoping to be given the green light to resume his professional career in March 2025. The midfielder is under contract in Turin until the summer of 2026, but there remains plenty of speculation when it comes to Juve terminating those terms.
Duran signs new Aston Villa contract
Aston Villa star Jhon Duran has put pen to paper on a new contract that will now keep him at the club until 2030, the Villans confirmed on Monday. The official statement from the club read, "Aston Villa is delighted to announce that Jhon Durán has signed a new contract with the club until 2030. The 20-year-old has been in sparkling form at the start of this season, scoring six times, including the only goal on Wednesday night which sealed a famous win over German giants, Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
"He has also contributed match-winning goals against West Ham, Leicester and Everton, the latter of which was a spectacular long-range strike. A Colombian international, Durán joined Villa in January 2023 from MLS side, Chicago Fire."
Guardiola reveals why Ederson did not leave Man City in summer
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has opened up on Ederson's failed transfer away from the club amid strong interest from the Saudi Pro League. Speaking to reporters, Guardiola said, "We didn't want Ederson to leave in the summer. A real offer didn't come... well, they've made an offer but the keeper for the team who won four Premier Leagues in a row has a price. Otherwise, he can't leave! And that's what basically happened."
