Victor Osimhen has argued that he has a market value of at least €100 million despite being unable to land a big move in the summer transfer window.
- Osimhen was linked to top European teams
- Was loaned to Galatasaray from Napoli
- Insists he is still worth big transfer fee
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Nigerian striker's heroics at Napoli saw him attract interest from Europe's top teams and a big-money move seemed imminent at one point. Despite links to the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli could not find a buyer for Osimhen and his relationship with the Serie A club fell apart, resulting in him being loaned to Galatasaray for the season.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Osimhen already has two goals and two assists to his name in three Super Lig appearances for the Turkish giants, and the 25-year-old maintains that few players boast his type of quality and style.
WHAT OSIMHEN SAID
"I am worth more than €100 million," he said. "There are few players like me in the world who have achieved this style and this success. Everything is linked to my characteristics, to the things I do, to my quality. I think I deserve it. I'm aware of the contribution I make and what I can do, even in my private life. Do people think differently? Some say 15 million, others say 100-120-150. Everyone has different opinions."
WHAT NEXT FOR OSIMHEN?
It has been reported that Osimhen could leave Galatasaray in January in order to make a permanent move elsewhere. In the meantime, he will hope to keep scoring for his new side to prove he is worth as much as he says.
