Emerson unlikely to leave West Ham this season

Per Fabrizio Romano, West Ham defender Emerson Palmieri is unlikely to leave the Premier League this season despite interest from several Turkish clubs. The former Chelsea full-back is reportedly happy to continue with the Hammers and has no plans of exiting the Premier League.

FA include Guardiola in shortlist for England coach's job

Per The Telegraph, the FA has prepared a shortlist of managers who could take charge of the national team in the coming months. Newcastle United's Eddie Howe and former Chelsea managers Graham Potter and Frank Lampard are the English names which are being considered.

Among the overseas managers, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola's name is on the shortlist, and he's reportedly the FA's dream appointment.

Fofana admits Marseille approached him this summer

Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has admitted that his hometown club Marseille approached him over a possible move in the summer. Speaking to Free Foot, the defender said, "It was from OM director Mehdi Benatia, it was special. I thought about it but there you go, the current objective is to succeed at Chelsea, to establish myself at my club."

Fofana's move to AEK Athens could collapse

Chelsea outcast was close to a loan move to AEK Athens, which included a £20 million buy option next summer. However, Fabrizio Romano now reports that the deal could collapse at the last moment as the English club disagree on multiple points with the Greek giants on the transfer. The window in Greece will close on Wednesday night and the West London side are now racing against time to complete the move.

Former Liverpool star Lovren set to join PAOK

Per Fabrizio Romano, Greek side PAOK are closing in on a deal to sign Lovren from Lyon. The former Liverpool star has already agreed terms with the club and final details are now being clarified. If the defender manages to complete his move, he will be facing Reds' rivals Manchester United in the Europa League this season.

Liverpool want to sign ex-Man United star Gomes

Per The Sun, Liverpool are eyeing a move for ex-Manchester United ace Angel Gomes, who recently made his international debut for England. The Reds, however, will face competition from Premier League rivals like Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea & Spurs to compete for Lecce left-back Dorgu

Per Caughtoffside, Premier League giants Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all set to compete to secure the signature of Lecce full-back Patrick Dogu in January. The Italian side, however, are unlikely to let the young left-back leave for cheap as they could demand a fee in the region of €40m.

Lunin set to extend Real Madrid stay

Goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is all set to extend his stay at Santiago Bernabeu as he will put pen to paper on a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2028, according to Marca.

The custodian's current deal expires in June 2025, however, after his impressive performance last season, the club have decided to offer him a new contract.

Reguilon unlikely to leave Spurs

Out of favour Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon is unlikely to leave the club this summer. Spurs have been trying to offload the Spaniard all summer as he no longer fits in Ange Postecoglou's plans, however, former scout Bryan King feels the player will stay back.

Speaking to Tottenham News, King said, "Reguilon still has another year left on his contract with the club. Therefore, why should he leave? This is where players and their agents can control a transfer. He doesn't have to leave, but it would mean him missing a year of senior football. If he is wise, and his agent is wise, he is at an age where he will want to be playing regularly. However, he is on very big money at Tottenham and it depends on whether or not a Turkish club can match that. Why should he leave for less money? He holds the cards."

Deco reveals why he went ahead with Olmo instead of Williams

Barcelona sporting director Deco has explained why the club chose to press forward with the signing of Dani Olmo over Nico Williams.

"Today we have Raphinha, Ferran [Torres], the return of Ansu [Fati], Lamine [Yamal], players like Fermin [Lopez] or Olmo that can play in that position," Deco told Barca One. "To have brought someone else, he would have had to be of a very high level. With Dani's signing, it gave us more options. It's not that we didn't speak to [other] players but we had other priorities that were crucial in not bringing another forward.

"I think the signing of Olmo gives us a lot of balance in midfield. He's a different player compared to the midfielder we already had. So with him we improve on offensive quality. Because there were players, there were offers, there were offers for several of our players but we were clear that we didn't want to lose important players. If in recent years we have been building a team, we can't just dismantle it. So the idea was that we needed to raise the level, not lower it. We had to avoid the temptation to sell."
