Carra: Salah is too good for Saudi
Sky Sports' Jamie Carragher on Mohamed Salah's future:
"I think Mo Salah is obsessed, like Ronaldo, with records and longevity. Most of us think, when you get to 35, you're done in football. The way that lad looks after himself, I think he's thinking of playing until he's 40, or late 30s at least.
" I don't think a Saudi situation is on the cards next season. He's too good. He's playing in the best league in the world, for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
"Whether it's in another season or two seasons' time, he's along Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard as the top players to play for Liverpool. He's possibly the best wide player we've seen in the Premier League, even if hasn't got the medals that maybe some others have got.
"Of course you fight to keep him. It's not about throwing money at him. It's not what you've done in the past, it's what you're doing in the future. When you get into your mid-30s, you can't do what you did before - but he might be different.
"Of course Liverpool want to keep him and Virgil van Dijk, but it will probably be about wages. Are they still on the same wages because, in the next two or three years, will they still be the same players? That's the debate that will be had.
"I would be very surprised if Salah isn't playing for Liverpool next season because I think he'll want to blitz every record in the club's history."
Keane: Liverpool have to offer Salah new contract
Sky Sports' Daniel Sturridge:
"I would be surprised [if they let him go]. Mo has achieved pretty much everything he could at the club but I've not seen him happier.
"The way he was speaking then was as if, 'I want to be at the club'. If the club are going to give him what he wants then he'll stay. I really hope he does stay because he's been magnificent."
Sky Sports' Roy Keane:
"He was brilliant. Talk about world-class performance. He's a great example. I really enjoy watching him. Obviously it's hard to take for Man Utd today but you've got to give credit where it's due.
"He's in control of that his contract]. I know clubs have policies about letting players' contracts run down when they get to 31, 32, but he'll decide what he wants to do. They'll obviously have to offer him a contract - he's their main player. But put it this way: he will have plenty of options."
Salah on future: 'This is my last year at Liverpool'
Mohamed Salah hinted at a potential Liverpool exit at the end of the season, saying "this is my last season" after the 3-0 win at Manchester United.
Salah set up Luis Diaz's double and then scored a third to silence Old Trafford - and then told Sky Sports after game that it could be the last time he plays at United's stadium.
"I had a good summer and had a long time to myself to try to stay positive because as you know it's my last year at the club," he said.
"I just want to enjoy it and I don't want to think about it. I feel like I'm free to play football and then we'll see what happens next year.
"Coming into the game, I said it could be the last time [I play here with Liverpool].
"No-one at the club has spoken to me about contracts, so I'm just like: 'Okay, I'm playing my last season' and see what happens at the end of the season.
"It's not up to me, but nobody's talked to me from the club. We will see."
Maresca hints at reasons for Osimhen absence
Enzo Maresca has suggested Victor Osimhen would not sign for Chelsea "on their conditions" - which was why he did not make a deadline day move to Stamford Bridge.
Speaking after their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, he said: "We want players but we wanted a player that we decide. It has to be on our conditions. If a player is not here then it was not.
"We will see in January."
Ugarte given fantastic welcome by Man Utd crowd!
Manuel Ugarte is greeted by the Old Trafford crowd for the first time following his £50.7m move from PSG.
He'll take a place in the stands, but it won't be long before the tough-tackling midfielder is providing competition for both Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo - the chosen midfield pairing against Liverpool today.
Arteta hopes to get Sterling up to speed in time to face Tottenham
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will spend the international break trying to get Raheem Sterling up to speed to ensure he can make his debut for the club at Tottenham.
Sterling sealed a dramatic deadline-day season-long loan move to the Gunners after being frozen out by new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca.
The 29-year-old worked with Arteta at Manchester City and scored 10 goals last season for the Blues, but has not played any football since pre-season after being controversially left out of the Chelsea matchday squad for their season opener with City two weeks ago.
After an ill-tempered 1-1 draw at home to Brighton on Saturday, Arsenal have a fortnight to prepare for a trip to Spurs on September 15 and Arteta kept his cards close to his chest when quizzed on if his new attacker may feature in the north London derby.
"We have to see him, speak to him (about) what he's been doing and how he's feeling about it," Arteta said.
"Try to find quick wins to get him up to speed as quickly as possible and for him to understand what we are looking for from him in the dynamics of the team.
"We will use that time to do that and get him involved as soon as possible."
Robinson confident Kevin van Veen can shine for St Mirren
Stephen Robinson insists Kevin van Veen still possesses the talent to win games for St Mirren.
The Buddies boss snapped up the 33-year-old Dutch striker on a season-long loan from Groningen on transfer deadline day.
The hugely experienced Van Veen previously enjoyed a prolific spell at Motherwell netting 29 goals in just 44 games but failed to score in 13 appearances for Kilmarnock last season. However, Robinson believes he can rediscover his scoring touch at St Mirren.
The manager said: "I believe there are reasons it didn't work out for him at Kilmarnock. They were flying so it's hard to break into a team when they're doing that.
"There were also different things going on that affected him. I'm happy I've got him, he's in a good headspace, he's very talented and I'm delighted to have him.
"I remember him from Scunthorpe, that long ago. He had a lot of talent. If you get him believing in himself he has the talent to win games. When games are tight perhaps he along with the other strikers give us wee added impetus going forwards."

The Matildas forward joins Tottenham as a free agent having spent last season with Liga F side Real Madrid, where she played 28 times and became the first-ever Australian to represent the Spanish side.
The 29-year-old has featured 82 times for Australia, scoring 19 goals and helped her country reach the Women's World Cup semi-finals with three goals before they were knocked out by England.
Raso returns to the Women's Super League following previous spells with Everton in 2020 and Manchester City in 2021, helping them lift the Women's League Cup.
