Howe opens up on Gordon's future amid Liverpool links
Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe says he is doing everything he can to keep Anthony Gordon at the club amid interest from Liverpool this summer. Speaking to reporters, Howe said, "I’ve seen Anthony come back in a good place. Especially this past week, he had a really short training period before that first game. We put him in as he’s a difference maker, it takes the younger players less time to get up to speed but I think this week he has looked back to his best. I think that there are two ways to look at that. The Euros will have been an incredible experience for him.
"The first time that he will have been with England for any length of time and I'm sure he’ll have learned, seen and experienced a lot from that. Sometimes, we all have this vision of the fairytale ending, you go in and help win your country the tournament at the first time, but life is rarely like that. Anthony will have seen a lot and hopefully use that for next time that he’s involved."

Alisson explains why he snubbed Saudi offer
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has revealed why he decided to snub a lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League this summer to stay at Anfield. Speaking to The Telegraph, the Brazil international said: "I have a contract and I want to honour my contract and finish my contract here or make a new one. I am really happy here. My family is happy. I never got to the point where I was talking about wages and things like this [with the Saudis]. It was just interest. But when you hear about the numbers the other players are getting you are a little bit attracted. That is normal.
"At the end of the day, you play football for love. It is the thing you like to do, but it is our profession and we want to use the years that we have to make the most of it. I think I am open to that personally, but not now. Now is not the time. I am really focused on the things we have here at Liverpool and while I still have my contract here, I will be focused here. If it is in the interest of the club to negotiate [for] me, then it will be a different conversation. At this time, at this window that we have, I am focused on my job here and my life in Liverpool."
