Barcelona withdraw from Joao Cancelo race
Mundo Deportivo has reported that Barcelona has pulled out of the competition to bring Joao Cancelo to Manchester City. Barca purportedly desired a reduction in City's £21 million asking fee for the out-of-favor Portuguese player, who was on loan in Catalonia for the previous campaign.
The Premier League champions, however, remained unwavering in the face of Al-Hilal's competitive interest. Cancelo is still being pursued by the Saudi Pro League, which may close a deal for the 30-year-old before the summer transfer window.
Al-Ahli submit bid for Napoli's Osimhen

Chelsea have held extensive talks for Osimhen but the deal is proving difficult to complete. Napoli are yet to respond to the Saudi club's offer, which equates to around half of Osimhen's reported release clause.

Chelsea 'exploring' Jadon Sancho swoop
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea could approach Manchester United with a Jadon Sancho swap proposition. The Blues have not ruled out sending a player to Old Trafford as part of the move if it tempts United into doing business. It is believed that they are "exploring" a deal for the winger.
Sancho, who Erik ten Hag did not include in the matchday squad when United lost to Brighton on Saturday, is also being pursued by Juventus. According to rumours, United wants to sell Sancho permanently, but they haven't ruled out a loan exit.

Toney has already agreed personal terms on a transfer that would see him leave Brentford after four seasons. The Bees had left him out of the matchday squad taken by manager Thomas Frank to Liverpool earlier on Sunday afternoon.

Napoli have reportedly reached an agreement with Manchester United for the transfer of Scott McTominay.
McTominay has reportedly been deemed surplus to requirements by Erik ten Hag, who has been working to trim the deadwood in his United squad this summer. The Athletic claims that Napoli's €30 million (£25.4m/$33.6m) bid for the midfielder has now been accepted by United, and a transfer will go through if he agrees to personal terms with the Serie A club.

Speaking to reporters, the goalkeeper said, "If we have a successful season with the new coaching staff and with fresh momentum, that also means for me that it will be fun. And when there’s fun, then I will definitely continue. But I'm not going into the season with the thought of saying goodbye afterwards."
Sky Sports reports that there is a strong possibility that the custodian will put pen to paper on a new deal and stay back at the Bavarian club.
Howe opens up on Gordon's future amid Liverpool links
Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe says he is doing everything he can to keep Anthony Gordon at the club amid interest from Liverpool this summer. Speaking to reporters, Howe said, "I’ve seen Anthony come back in a good place. Especially this past week, he had a really short training period before that first game. We put him in as he’s a difference maker, it takes the younger players less time to get up to speed but I think this week he has looked back to his best. I think that there are two ways to look at that. The Euros will have been an incredible experience for him.
"The first time that he will have been with England for any length of time and I'm sure he’ll have learned, seen and experienced a lot from that. Sometimes, we all have this vision of the fairytale ending, you go in and help win your country the tournament at the first time, but life is rarely like that. Anthony will have seen a lot and hopefully use that for next time that he’s involved."

Alisson explains why he snubbed Saudi offer
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has revealed why he decided to snub a lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League this summer to stay at Anfield. Speaking to The Telegraph, the Brazil international said: "I have a contract and I want to honour my contract and finish my contract here or make a new one. I am really happy here. My family is happy. I never got to the point where I was talking about wages and things like this [with the Saudis]. It was just interest. But when you hear about the numbers the other players are getting you are a little bit attracted. That is normal.
"At the end of the day, you play football for love. It is the thing you like to do, but it is our profession and we want to use the years that we have to make the most of it. I think I am open to that personally, but not now. Now is not the time. I am really focused on the things we have here at Liverpool and while I still have my contract here, I will be focused here. If it is in the interest of the club to negotiate [for] me, then it will be a different conversation. At this time, at this window that we have, I am focused on my job here and my life in Liverpool."
