Transfer news & rumours LIVE: Chelsea eye Dominic Calvert-Lewin as alternative to Victor Osimhen as Napoli star makes outrageous wage demand
{by} Goal.com

Chelsea draw up Osimhen alternative

Chelsea's efforts to secure Napoli striker Victor Osimhen have hit a significant obstacle due to the player's staggering wage demands, according to The Sun.

The Nigerian international is reportedly seeking a contract worth £500,000 per week, which would place him among the highest-paid players in the Premier League. However, Chelsea are not willing to meet Osimhen's salary expectations, leading to a standstill in negotiations. They are looking at other options and Juventus' Federico Chiesa and Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin have emerged as more affordable alternatives.

Arteta hints at another Arsenal signing

Mikel Arteta suggested Arsenal may dip into the transfer market for a new forward before the summer deadline, with Gabriel Jesus missing the Aston Villa win.

Ipswich sign Clarke from Sunderland

Ipswich Town have signed Jack Clarke from Sunderland on a five-year contract.

"I'm really excited to have joined the club and can't wait to get going," Clarke told the official club media.

"Ipswich have been on a really good trajectory over the last few years and the recruitment this summer has been very impressive, so this was always something I was going to be interested in.

"Speaking with Kieran McKenna really sells the club and the journey it's on, as well as what they're still trying to achieve, and you're almost silly if you do want to jump on board with the way things have been going."

O'Shea set to join Ipswich

Dara O'Shea is on the verge of joining Ipswich Town after successfully completing a medical examination, according to Sky Sports. Ipswich have reached an agreement with Burnley for a transfer valued at an initial £12 million, with an additional £3 million in performance-related add-ons.

Cancelo set for Saudi Arabian sojourn

Al Hilal is on the brink of finalizing a transfer for Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo, according to reports by Rudy Galetti. The two clubs have reportedly settled on a €35 million deal that will see the 30-year-old full-back move to the Saudi Pro League side. Under the terms of the agreement, Cancelo will sign a three-year contract with Al Hilal. A medical examination for Cancelo is anticipated to occur within the next three days, which will be the final step before the transfer is officially confirmed.

Lenglet heading towards Atletico

Clement Lenglet is poised to join Atletico Madrid on loan from Barcelona, according to Marca.

Atletico Madrid has already made significant moves in the transfer market this summer, securing the services of Julian Alvarez, Alexander Sorloth, Robin Le Normand, and Conor Gallagher. However, the club remains eager to add a left-sided centre-back to their roster, and Lenglet appears to be the ideal candidate.

Lenglet, who spent the last two seasons on loan in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, is scheduled to undergo a medical examination on Saturday to finalize his move to the Spanish capital.

Atletico Madrid's head coach, Diego Simeone, hinted at the impending arrival of new players during a recent press conference. "We're still lacking perhaps two players to come in, and in a few hours, I think they'll be with us," Simeone stated.

Southampton submit bid for Bijlow

Southampton has made a formal offer to Feyenoord for their goalkeeper Justin Bijlow, as they look to bolster their squad, according to Sky Sports.

This move comes as Southampton faces challenges in securing a deal for Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale. The negotiations have hit a stumbling block due to Arsenal's high valuation of Ramsdale in the obligatory purchase clause, making it difficult for Southampton to meet the financial demands. Despite this, their interest in Ramsdale has not completely waned, and they may revisit the possibility if the situation changes.

Brighton sign Vilamala on loan from Barcelona

Brighton have got on board striker Bruna Vilamala on a season-long loan from Barcelona.

Barca advance in their pursuit of Chiesa

Federico Chiesa, the Juventus forward, appears to be on the verge of joining Barcelona, according to reports from Nicolo Schira. The 26-year-old Italian international, whose contract with Juventus is set to expire next year, is likely to be sold this summer as the Serie A giants aim to secure a transfer fee rather than risk losing him for free.

Barcelona has emerged as the frontrunner to sign Chiesa, with the Catalan club reportedly preparing a bid of €10 million, supplemented by an additional €3 million in performance-related bonuses. Discussions between the player and Barcelona have advanced, with a preliminary agreement for a three-year contract already in place.

Porto announce Omorodion signing

Samu Omorodion has joined FC Porto from Atletico Madrid in a five-year contract after they coughed up €15m for 50% of the player's rights.

Liverpool want Atalanta's Koopmeiners

Liverpool are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta. According to TeamTalk, the Reds are keen to bolster their midfield options and could go head-to-head with Juventus for the Dutch international's signature.

Juventus remain keen on signing Sancho

Per Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are negotiating transfer deals for Jadon Sancho and as a result, they left the winger out of the matchday squad on Saturday against Brighton. Juventus are close to signing Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina, however, they remain interested in signing the England international.

Man Utd identify Ugarte's replacement

Per Trivela, Manchester United have opened talks with Fluminense over a deal to sign midfielder Andre, as their bid to buy Manuel Ugarte drags on.

Erik ten Hag is said to be keen to add a new midfielder to his squad this summer and United are reported to have agreed personal terms with the Uruguay international, having proposed a loan-to-buy deal.

Bayern CEO hinted the club could buy more players

Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has hinted that the club could sign some more players before the ongoing summer transfer window closes. Speaking to reporters, Dreesen said, "The transfer window is not over yet. We are financially strong enough to buy first and sell later. The foundation for this has been laid through prudent management over the past 25 years. This now gives us the power to take the lead to some extent."

Broja's move to Ipswich on the verge of collapsing

Per The Guardian, Armando Broja's loan move to Ipswich Town could collapse at the last moment. The newly Promoted Premier League side agreed on a deal with the Blues with the condition that they would have to buy the player for £30m next summer if they managed to stay up. However, there has been a delay in the paperwork which could lead to the collapse of the deal.

Napoli table €25m offer for McTominay

Napoli have reportedly bid €25 million (£21m/$28m) for Manchester United star Scott McTominay - but the Red Devils are holding out for more, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Serie A side want a new midfielder and have identified McTominay or fellow Scotland international Billy Gilmour as their top targets. However, the report states they will either go for the United ace or the Brighton player. While the Italian team have reportedly offered £21m for McTominay, the Red Devils want at least £25m ($33m).

Al-Hilal close to signing Cancelo from Man City

Per Rudy Galetti, Saudi Pro League champions Al-Hilal are close to securing a move for Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo. The two clubs have agreed on a €35million transfer fee and the player will be offered a three-year deal.

Eberl explains why Bayern sold De Ligt

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has opened up about Matthijs' transfer to Manchester United as he explained they the club sold the Dutch defender.

Speaking to reporters, Eberl said, "We don't make decisions based on fan favourites; we have to decide where we feel we have the best chance of success. We are the last ones who want to talk bad about Matthijs. He played very solidly. But we made a different decision at centre-back, and we wanted to have a left-footed player, which is why we went with Hiroki (Ito)."

Napoli closing in on signing Lukaku from Chelsea

Per Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea, Napoli and Lukaku's representatives are very close to formalising a move for the player as the Belgian is all set to permanently leave Stamford Bridge to join the Serie A club. The forward is expected to put pen to paper on a three-year deal.

Real Sociedad in advanced talks to sign Hummels

La Liga club Real Sociedad are in advanced talks with Mats Hummels as they look to sign the veteran forward as a free agent this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano. Along with signing the central defender, the club are also planning to add a forward to their roster.
