EXCLUSIVE Kevin De Bruyne is set to turn down an eye watering £1million-per-week deal from Saudi Arabia so his family can remain settled in the north west in Manchester
Kevin De Bruyne is poised to turn his back on a £1m-a-week deal in Saudi Arabia and stay at Manchester City - for the sake of his family.
De Bruyne has been holding talks with Pro-League outfit Al Ittihad, and had agreed in principle a three-year-contract worth £156m. Al-Ittihad boss Lauren Blanc wanted De Bruyne to link up with N'Golo Kante and Karim Benzema - and was confident of landing the Belgium superstar.
But De Bruyne will now remain with Pep Guardiola's English champions for one more season at least. The attacking midfielder has discussed a move to Saudi with his wife Michele De Bruyne, and is reluctant to uproot his children.
It's understood the couple have particular reservations about changing the schooling of eldest son Mason Milian, who is eight. De Bruyne, 33, has 12 months remaining on his Etihad deal and could leave City on a free transfer next summer.
But club bosses are keen to agree an extension with De Bruyne, and will open talks with him following the club's pre-season tour of the United States.

Guardiola, meanwhile, has admitted Ederson could leave City in the summer transfer window. The Brazilian goalkeeper has several offers from Saudi Pro-League clubs on the table and is considering his next move.
Guardiola said: "I don't know (what will happen). I'd like him to stay, but it depends on other clubs.
“I don't know the situation. There have been no contacts in the last days. It's a question of training, being with us until the transfer window finishes, and then we'll see."
