Kylian Mbappe and Co only won on a shootout - but Melissa triumphed emphatically with her surprise look, according to her social media followers.
The broadcaster posed in a leather-style slit skirt and a top from League of Ireland side Cork City at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg.
Quick responses online included: "Fantastic choice," ..."Class jersey in fairness"... and "Smashing jersey that Cork City one!"
And reaction from wider afield than Ireland was just as glowing.

Other viewers contrasted Melissa's dazzling display with the more dour offering on the pitch.
It saw Cristiano Ronaldo, 39, possibly bow out of international football - and in frustrating fashion.
The Portugal captain made little impact as a contest of few chances finished 0-0, although he did net his spot-kick when Robert Martinez's men exited 5-3 on penalties.
