And his transfer ended up crashing the Spanish giants website after the announcement.

Once fans could get onto the site, they read a simple 24-word statement from the newly crowned Champions of Europe., reading: "Real Madrid C.F. has reached an agreement with the player Kylian Mbappé, who will be tied to the club for the next five seasons."

Mbappe joins Real Madrid after a six-year spell with PSG in which he scored 256 goals in 308 appearances.

The 25-year-old has penned a five-year contract with Madrid that will see him take a whopping £51MILLION pay cut to join.

It's believed that the star was earning a whopping £63.9m per year during his final season in Paris with an annual £25.6m signing-on-bonus too.

While his new deal in the Spanish capital will see him earn a comparatively measly £12.8m per year deal after tax, according to Sky Sports.

On his move to the Spanish capital, Mbappe said: "A dream come true. So happy and proud to join the club of my dream
@realmadrid."

"Nobody can understand how excited I am right now. Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thanks for your unbelievable support.

Mbappe will reportedly receive a whopping £106.5m signing-on bonus for his troubles - which will be paid in instalments over the course of his deal.

The World Cup winning bagsman announced he would be leaving PSG last month in an emotional video.

He thanked the club and the fans for his stint in the French capital - but notably left out PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

He said: "PSG is a club that never leaves anyone indifferent. We can love it or hate it, I made the choice of loving it.

"And I did for seven years with ups and downs, of course, but I do not regret at any moment signing with this prestigious club.

"It's a club that I will keep in my memory my entire life. I will tell everybody, my whole life, that I had the chance to play here.

"And I won't be a player anymore, but I will continue to watch every game of course, because it's a club that I will always be interested in and I will always closely follow its news."

He added: " I want to say thank you, because without you all I would have never experienced half of the emotions I felt.

"And just for that, I am grateful for life. Thank you all."

Mbappe reportedly had a fight with Al-Khelaifi after snubbing him from his leaving video.

The PSG president is said to have approached Mbappe before the Ligue 1 match against Toulouse on May 12 to question why he didn't receive a compliment.

According to Le Parisien, the situation became "increasingly tense" before they clashed.

A witness claimed "the walls shook" during the intense exchange.

It subsequently resulted in a four-minute delay to PSG's warm-up.

The goalscoring machine, who is widely considered to be one of the best players in the world, had come close to moving to Madrid back in 2022.

Real Madrid seemed to have put everything in place to lure Mbappe to the Bernabeu on a free transfer, but ultimately missed out when the star penned a two-year extension at the Parc des Princes in an unexpected U-turn.

That deal has now expired meaning Mbappe can complete the move to join the La Liga champions.

Mbappe joins the club just days after they won their 15th Champions League title with a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

The former Monaco man joins the likes of Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Luka Modric in a team of superstars.

The new breed of 'Galacticos' look set up to dominate European football for the foreseeable future.

For now though, Mbappe will shift his focus onto international football as he prepares for Euro 2024 with France this summer.
