Things became dicey between Mbappe and Nasser Al Khelaifi last summer
Kylian Mbappe will leave PSG on good terms after seven seasons, although with an open wound with the president of the French club Nasser Al Khelaifi, the only one he didn't say goodbye to in the farewell statement he put out on social media.
The French striker has cited all his coaches and sporting directors, starting with Unai Emery and ending with another Spaniard, Luis Enrique. But for Al Khelaifi, not a single line.
The relationship began to break down last summer, when in July he decided to inform the club that he would not use the option to extend his contract until 2025. At that very moment, everything blew up.
Mbappe accused the club of leaking his decision to the press and the club responded by putting him up for sale and removing him from the day-to-day life of his teammates. Mbappe has not forgotten that and so his relationship with Nasser has never been the same again.
In August, the two parties reached a professional agreement to normalize the situation and try to face the season in the best possible way. Mbappe forgave the 100 million contract bonus he was due to receive at the end of this season and the club reopened the doors of the team to him.
Mbappe played the whole season with absolute normality, scoring 43 goals in 46 official matches, but he does not forget the last few months, in which he has been on the bench more than he would have liked. He senses that behind this decision is not Luis Enrique, but the club, hurt by his departure to Real Madrid.
PSG not happy with Mbappe's decision
That's because the Parisian club has never had any doubts that behind Mbappé's decision not to extend his contract has always been Real Madrid, a team they stopped in 2022 but with whom they have not been able to this time. In January, Mbappe was already a Real Madrid player.
