The report adds that Manchester City's influence over Girona given their common ownership by City Football Group, may also make it difficult for the Red Devils to recruit the Spain under-21 international - who is also being chased by the Hammers and the Gunners.

As per AS, Frenkie De Jong could be Barcelona's first bet to make a major this summer with Ronald Araujo set to stay with the Catalan side. The news could be a positive one for Manchester United, who have been after the Dutch midfielder since last summer.
