Fans stormed the pitch prior to the final whistle as Bayer Leverkusen clinched their first ever Bundesliga title with five games to spare.
Xabi Alonso's side secured the championship in stylish fashion as they battered Werder Bremen 5-0 with starlet Florian Wirtz bagging his first professional hat-trick while Victor Boniface's penalty and Granit Xhaka's 25-yard screamer added to the scoreline.
In what was Leverkusen's first major trophy since 1993, they ended Bayern Munich's 12-year grip on the title as they've brought in a new era in Germany's top-flight as the club's supporters lit red flares and stormed onto the pitch to celebrate with the players.
Leverkusen remain unbeaten this season in all competitions and recently set a new German record for consecutive competitive matches without a loss at 43 matches which is a record they continue to break every game they play without a defeat.
With one trophy secured this season, a Treble remains on the card as they play Kaiserslautern in the DFB Pokal final next month, with their opponents sitting second bottom of the German second division.

Their European endeavour is also on course as they're one game away from the Europa League semi-finals having defeated West Ham 2-0 in the first leg of their quarter-final this past week.
In what was Alonso's first trophy of his managerial career, he can add another piece of history if Leverkusen see out their final five games without a loss as they'll become the first German club to ever go through a league campaign undefeated.
Leverkusen's delight is Bayern Munich's devastation as their decade-plus stronghold on German football has come to an end as they sit a whopping 16 points behind the newly-crowned champions.
