Forlorn fans fawning over the world's most fancied footballer may have to fixate on a fresh face after she revealed the identity of her secret boyfriend on social media

Some guys get all the luck – and that includes the hand of the 'world's most beautiful footballer'.
Or at least that's the case for Tomas Ribeiro, who was this week unveiled as the secret beau of Swiss double threat Ana Markovic. Croatia-born Markovic has reigned for some time as football's biggest firecracker and boasts more than 4.5million followers across her Instagram and TikTok pages.
The Average Joe likely stands a better chance of winning the Swiss lottery than bagging a date with Zurich-based Markovic. But now those odds appear even slimmer after she plastered her Portuguese partner across social media.
Not only that, but the 24-year-old revealed the pair recently celebrated their one-year anniversary with one another. And it stands to reason that Ribeiro - who plays for Vitoria Guimaraes in his native Portugal - is quite the heartthrob in his own right.
Cue the heartbreak of millions as Markovic's admirers demonstrated their devastation in the comments, with one fan replying: "My entire life is now ruined." And another jealous subscriber wrote: "Ay I don't like how he's holding you."
"You’ve been cheating on me for one whole year," commented another incredulous groupie in response to the pictures of Markovic looking loved up. And a fourth fan answered: "You just gonna leave us heartbroken."
Forward Markovic plays for Grasshoppers after she was raised in Switzerland from an early age, although she represents her native Croatia internationally. Centre-back Ribeiro doesn't have the same exposure on the global stage, though he's become a regular at Guimaraes since joining from Grasshoppers last year.
The happy couple appear to be making a go of the long-distance relationship despite Ribeiro's move back to the Primeira Liga in 2023. And it will seemingly take more than a few thousand kilometres to drive a wedge between the duo.
