Transfer news & rumours LIVE: Arsenal lining up shock move for Joao Cancelo if Barcelona cannot make loan stint permanent
{by} Goal.com

Arsenal could steal Man City's Joao Cancelo from Barcelona

If Barcelona cannot afford to sign Manchester City's Joao Cancelo on a long-term contract, Arsenal is allegedly prepared to make a summer raid for the full-back. Cancelo has a contract with Man City through June 2027, but after losing favour with Pep Guardiola, it appears that he will not be playing at the Etihad Stadium in the future.

Cancelo has openly stated his desire to join Barcelona permanently, and Man City is reportedly willing to let him go this summer. The Sun claims that Barca's financial issues prevent them from agreeing to pay Man City's £40 million asking price for Cancelo. It's currently being said that the Catalan behemoths are unwilling to pay anything more than a borrowing fee.
