Roony Bardghji admitted that it is "fun to think about" a move to England after being linked with Manchester United and Tottenham in January.
WHAT HAPPENED?
The 18-year-old garnered global attention when he smashed an 87th-minute winner against United in the Champions League in November. A swarm of Premier League clubs like Crystal Palace, Chelsea, and Newcastle United were reported to be keeping tabs on Bardghji along with Barcelona and French outfit Nice. However, the winger played down speculation in a recent interview with Sportbladet.
WHAT BARDGHJI SAID
"My main focus is here [at Copenhagen]," Bardghji said. "There is not much more to say. All talk is gone. I try to do as well as possible for FCK. I am happy that I am here.
"I also chose to stay here. It feels good. It's fun to think about [a possible move to the Premier League]. You never know, it could happen. Hard to say now."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
After putting in a remarkable performance against United, Bardghji is gearing up to face treble winners Manchester City in the last 16 stage of the Champions League.
"It's a tough match but incredibly fun," Bardghji added. "It is big for the club, the players and the fans to play a round of 16 in the Champions League. We have great chances. We have shown at home at the Park that we can measure up to them. We drew against Manchester City last season. It is not impossible."
DID YOU KNOW?
Bardghji happens to be a Real Madrid fan and has previously admitted in an interview with Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that he "wants to end up" playing at the Santiago Bernabeu. He has scored 11 goals in 30 appearances across competitions this term, which has forced several European elites to take note of him.
WHAT NEXT?
Bardghji will look to add to his goal tally when Copenhagen host Molde in the Atlantic Cup on Thursday evening. However, the Danish side will have one eye on their continental fixture against City on February 13 as they harbour lofty ambitions of knocking out the reigning champions.
