Borussia Dortmund are in talks to re-sign Jadon Sancho and end his Manchester United nightmare.
Both clubs are negotiating a deal that could see Sancho go back to the German outfit on a six-month loan deal. And United are so desperate to get the England winger out of the club, they are willing to contribute up to 50 per cent of his £180,000-a-week wages.
Sancho became a complete outcast at United back in August following a bust-up with Erik ten Hag. Sancho was banished from the first team squad and ordered to train alone, after accusing Ten Hag of telling lies about him.
The United boss had dropped the 23-year-old for a game at Arsenal - and said it had been because of his poor attitude in training.
Ten Hag said he wouldn't allow Sancho back into the fold until he apologised and showed some contrition. But Sancho refused and the duo were unable to bury the hatchet, despite a meeting aimed to resolving the differences.
Sancho knows his relationship with Ten Hag will never be repaired - and is desperate to find a new club. He's said to be keen on going back to Dortmund, who sold him to United in a £73m deal in 2021.
He knows he needs regular first team football to stand any chance of somehow making Gareth Southgate's England squad for the Euros this summer. Dortmund would be willing to make the deal permanent at the end of the season if Sancho impresses - but for much less than the fee he was sold to United for.
The Englishman has had just 76 minutes of action this season, spread out through three league games at the beginning of the season. His last appearance came at home in United's 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest where he notched 30 minutes of play.
