With less than a week to go until the January transfer window opens, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are among the Premier League sides preparing for a busy month of negotiations.
The vast majority of clubs are currently struggling with mounting injury problems, and the January window therefore comes at the ideal time for squads to be bolstered and depth concerns to be rectified.
Newcastle, Tottenham and Arsenal are among the outfits looking to ensure that injuries do not derail their respective campaigns, with other non-Big Six sides, such as Brentford and Brighton, also keen to splash the cash on reinforcements as soon as possible.
Chelsea considering Matty Cash approach
Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a new right-back in the January transfer window.
And 90min claim that Aston Villa's Matty Cash is on Mauricio Pochettino's wishlist.
The 26-year-old has regularly featured for Villa in recent years, carving his reputation as one of the Premier League's best in his position.
And with injury issues with Reece James and Malo Gusto's mixed start at Stamford Bridge, he's on the agenda.
Man Utd unlikely to sign Joshua Zirkzee
Joshua Zirkzee's £19m release clause only applies to former club Bayern Munich, according to Bologna chief Marco Di Vaio.
The 22-year-old striker has been linked with Manchester United amid an impressive season in Italy.
However, Di Vaio has ruled out any of Bologna's key players leaving this winter.
He said: "How many phone calls have we received? None. And we wouldn't answer anyway! Joshua is a nine-and-a-half [a cross between a striker and a playmaker], yes, but he doesn't resemble anyone. He's a unique player.
"The release clause? It is valid only for Bayern. For the other clubs, the price is open… but our top players will not move in January."

Liverpool icon Roberto Firmino unhappy in Saudi Arabia
Roberto Firmino is facing an uncertain future at Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli, according to reports.
The Liverpool icon joined in the summer after leaving Anfield as a free agent but has been a regular subject of criticism from Al Ahli supporters.
He is also said to be frustrated by the club's style of play, and there is a mutual willingness for a loan move in the New Year.
TalkSPORT claim that there is interest in the 32-year-old forward from England, Turkey and elsewhere in Saudi Arabia.
Sean Dyche not expecting Everton exits
Everton manager Sean Dyche isn't expecting to lose many, if any, players in the January transfer window.
Dyche sanctioned several departures in the summer to trim his squad for financial reasons.
And he's, therefore, keen to avoid losing many more while his options are slim during the festive period.
He said: "I think it’s fair to say that with a slim squad, you don’t want to lose players. I don’t think there’s much reality in those situations.
"In one way, it’s a backhanded compliment. I don’t think there were too many talking about our players when we got here, and now they are.
"That's pleasing, the player's development and the club's recent development to make sure we're on a better foothold. It's a compliment in a way, but I don't think there's a reality in them stories."
Ipswich eyeing Man Utd forward for loan
Amad Diallo will soon return from an injury that has kept him out for the whole season.
And he could seal another loan move away from Manchester United in January.
According to reports, Ipswich Town have included Amad on their attacking shortlist after losing George Hirst through injury and Dane Scarlett's return to Tottenham Hotspur.
The 21-year-old shone in the Championship at Sunderland last season and could be set to reunite with former United coach Kieran McKenna.
His arrival would be a huge boost for McKenna's Premier League promotion hopes.
Man Utd receive £40m offer for Mason Greenwood
Getafe have reportedly informed Manchester United that they would be keen to strike a deal for Mason Greenwood in the January transfer window.
The on-loan forward has hit the ground running in the La Liga, and Getafe have already ruled that they would like to retain his services in the long-term.
According to The Sun, the Spanish side have told United that they would be willing to fork out £40million to acquire the services of the England international permanently next month.
The Red Devils have knocked back the offer though, hopeful of receiving a more significant fee in the summer if their academy graduate continues to thrive whilst out on loan.
