Sergio Aguero will return to football nearly two years after being forced to retire next month.
Aguero went down holding his chest during Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Alaves back in October 2021.
He stepped away from football entirely in December of that year on doctor’s orders.
The Argentina icon suffered from an irregular heartbeat, bringing his career to an end at 33-years-old.
Thankfully, it's not the end of his involvement in football altogether. It was announced on Wednesday that Aguero will be part of an all-star friendly organised by CONMEBOL.
Set to take place at the DRV PNK Stadium, home of Inter Miami and Lionel Messi, Aguero will line up alongside ex-Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho and former Argentina teammate Gonzalo Higuain.
A press release reads: "The South American Football Confederation brings together players who became legends of world football in an exhibition match that will be played on December 5 at 8:00 p.m. (local time) at the DRV PNK Stadium located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

"Ronaldinho, Lucio, Sergio 'Kun' Aguero, Maximiliano Rodríguez, Leonardo Ponzio, Javier Zanetti, Gonzalo Higuain, Ezequiel Lavezzi, Jorge Campos, Luis Hernández, Sebastián “el Loco” Abreu, Carlos Valderrama, Mario Yepes, Iván Zamorano, Marcelo Salas, Justo Villar, Nelson Haedo Valdez, Juan Arango, Claudio Pizarro, Ronald Raldes, Bryan Ruíz, Patricio Urrutia, Oswaldo Vizcarrondo, Roque Santa Cruz, among other world soccer stars will be part of this great match representing their respective countries."
Aguero became one of the most feared strikers in world football after joining Manchester City from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
He scored the winner in City's dramatic 3-2 win over Queens Park Rangers on the final day of the 11/12 season to seal the club's first Premier League title.
During his time at the Etihad Stadium, Aguero won an additional four Premier League titles and scored 260 goals, becoming City's all-time top goalscorer.
On the international stage, Aguero helped Argentina to Copa America glory in 2019.
Sadly, he'd already retired by the time his close friend Messi lifted the World Cup in Qatar. That didn't stop Aguero from jetting out to the Middle East to celebrate with his countrymen, however.
