Neymar has paid tribute to his influencer friend Luana Andrade after she died suddenly during liposuction surgery.
The 29-year-old model, who starred in reality TV show Power Couple with boyfriend Joao Hadad in their native Brazil, reportedly went into cardiac arrest while undergoing the aesthetic procedure earlier this week.
She was having body fat removed from her knee. The cause of death was a pulmonary embolism, which is a sudden blockage in the blood vessels that send blood to your lungs.
Sao Luiz Hospital, where Luana was being treated by a private doctor, issued a statement which read: "The surgery was interrupted and the patient underwent tests that revealed massive thrombosis. She was transferred to the ICU where she underwent medication and hemodynamic treatment."
Neymar - currently sidelined thanks to a long-term injury - reacted to the tragic news on his Instagram story, also addressing the armed robbery committed on the family home of his girlfriend and the mother of his child Bruna Biancardi, whose parents were gagged as luxury items were stolen from them.

The injured Al-Hilal star wrote on a black screen: "Sad day with two very bad news. First it was the attack that Bru's parents suffered, but thank God everyone is fine! Secondly, the death of a friend. My condolences to the whole family, may God receive Luana with open arms."
Luana's partner Joao, meanwhile, made a heartbreaking post as he mourned the loss of his loved one. "It was two years by your side and I have no words to express how happy I was," he wrote. "We built a beautiful story and lived our dreams intensely. In addition to being a girlfriend, you are and will always be a partner beyond life, my love."

Another Brazilian sports star, surfer Gabriel Medina, bemoaned Luana's avoidable death. "Today I lost a friend due to 'simple' aesthetic procedures," he commented.
"The world is surreal, people... especially you women. This standard of 'perfect' bodies that are impossible to achieve displayed on Instagram and in the media needs to end urgently.
"Why risk your life for nothing? Can not understand. We are young, we have several other ways of feeling good, healthy and beautiful. This fake world will end up killing more and more young people."
