Lionel Messi has already decided his next career move according to reports in Spain, just months after joining Inter Miami on a free transfer.
The Argentine attacker left Paris Saint Germain under a cloud after his contract with the French champions came to an end at the end of last season, and turned down the chance to move to Al-Hilal and Barcelona in favour of a move to MLS side Inter Miami.
He has enjoyed an excellent start to life in the US too, with the 36-year-old scoring 10 times in the Leagues Cup and once in the MLS, as well as grabbing five assists too.
Despite this, the 2022 World Cup winner is already plotting his future career path. According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, the veteran forward is keen to return to his home country of Argentina when his contract with Inter Miami comes to an end in 2025, and is lining up a move to Newell's Old Boys.
Currently earning an estimated $50 and $60 million per year in MLS, that figure will take a drastic dive in favour of sentiment should the move materialise, with Messi keen to bring his career full-circle and fulfil a long-held dream.
All the way back in 2016, the Argentine explained '"If I go back to Argentina tomorrow, which I would love, the club I would be play for would be Newell's", the Rosario based side with whom he began his career.
More recently, he told TYC Sports: "My dream is to play at Newell's but I don't know what will happen, and a part of that doubt is due to the way the country is at the moment.
