Suiza será el próximo sábado el rival de España en los cuartos de final de la Eurocopa Sub-21 tras acabar segunda del grupo D pese a ser goleada (1-4) en una dramática última jornada por Francia, primera con pleno de 9 puntos y que se medirá a Ucrania.
Suiza, Italia y Noruega acabaron empatados y hubo que recurrir a los enfrentamientos directos entre los tres. Los helvéticos quedaron segundos por más goles a favor (4) ya que lograron los mismos puntos (3) y la misma diferencia de goles (0)
Italia, liderada por Sandro Tonali, se va a casa, junto a Alemania y Países Bajos, pese a dominar la primera parte y disponer de varias ocasiones para abrir el marcador y encarrilar su clasificación.
Al cuarto de hora Pietro Pellegri cabeceó mal un centro de Nicolò Rovella desde la derecha. Superado el minuto 30, tras un rechace defensivo, Samuele Ricci conectó una volea que sacó providencialmente Jesper Dalan. Ya poco antes del descanso fue Tonali quien cabeceó otro centro de Rovella y el meta Kristoffer Klaesson desvió a córner con la punta de los dedos.
Italia juega con fuego
Tras el descanso Italia jugó con el triunfo de Francia ante Suiza en el otro encuentro, pero Noruega empezó a generar peligro y avisó con un remate de Hakon Evjen que sacó Marco Carnesecchi con una buena intervención (55').
Mientras Paolo Nicolato cambió sus puntas Wilfried Gnonto y Pellegri, Leif Gunnar Smerud dio entrada a dos sus mejores efectivos, Oscar Bobb (Manchester City) y Antonio Nusa, para que su selección, hasta entonces con un juego plano, se lanzara abiertamente al ataque.
Botheim marca para Noruega
Fue Nusa quien puso el balón que Erik Botheim, en semifallo, llevó a la red (65'). Quedaba media hora y todo podía pasar. Suiza pasaba como segundo a igualdad de puntos con Italia y Noruega, pero un gol de estas dos les clasificaba.
El suplente Nicolò Cambiaghi remató al poste (81') y tuvo el triunfo de una Italia a la que le entraron las prisas, pero Noruega también prodigó varios remates, como un trallazo de Nusa que sacó Carnesecchi (85'). Al final ni unos ni otros pasaron a cuartos.
Francia golea en la segunda parte
En el otro encuentro, Francia se impuso claramente a Suiza con goles de Amine Gouiri, de penalti (16'), Bradley Barcola (65'), Rayan Cherki (76') y Maxence Caqueret (81'). Mientras Dan Ndoye logró el momentáneo 1-1 (35').
