Jugadores y miles de aficionados no dudaron en empaparse de agua para celebrar en las calles del centro de la ciudad el histórico triplete que se completó el sábado con la conquista de la Champions
Miles de personas desafiaron este lunes la intensa lluvia que caía sobre Manchester para asistir a la rúa de la plantilla del City por las calles del centro de la ciudad inglesa y celebrar la conquista de la primera Champions League y el primer triplete en la historia del club.
Dos días después de la victoria en Estambul que selló Rodrigo Hernández con su ante el Inter, Pep Guardiola y sus jugadores festejaron con miles de aficionados el colofón a esta temporada histórica.
Imperturbables pese a la tormenta que obligó a retrasar media hora el comienzo del desfile, los aficionados se agolpaban en aceras abarrotadas, algunos de ellos se subían a paradas de transporte público y mobiliario urbano para presenciar el paso de los tres buses descubiertos y ver de cerca a sus ídolos.
Sobre el autobús de los 'citizens' reinaba el ambiente festivo y corrían las botellas de champán y cerveza durante una rúa que se prolongó por espacio de una hora.
Entre banderas ondeantes y plátanos de plástico inflables, Rúben Dias agitaba el trofeo de la Premier League en uno de los laterales del vehículo, Nathan Aké bailaba con la copa y Jack Grealish, otra vez el rey de la fiesta, se quitaba la camiseta para celebrar los éxitos de la temporada. El extremo inglés acabó rociado con champán por un Erling Haaland que desparramó la botella por su cabeza.

Guardiola, artífice desde el banquillo de la histórica gesta del City, fumaba un puro en la cubierta de uno de los tres autobuses y saludaba a los aficionados a la vez que cantaba con ellos y les animaba a seguir la fiesta.
“Tenía que ser la rúa con esta lluvia, de lo contrario esto no es Manchester”. dijo Guardiola durante el desfile por una ciudad que en 1999 había salido a la calle para celebrar el triplete del eterno rival, el United, de la mano de Sir Alex Ferguson.
Desatado, el técnico de Santpedor, como el resto, acabó empapado y algunos de sus jugadores, como Erling Haaland, Nathan Aké, Rúen Dias y el mencionado Grealish, optaron por quitarse la camiseta azul celeste con la inscripción 'Trebe' Winners' (ganadores del triplete) especialmente diseñada para la ocasión. La fiesta acabó en un escenario donde Guardiola y sus jugadores fueron otra vez aclamados
Solo siete equipos han logrado ganar la Champions, la Liga y la Copa nacionales en la misma temporada. Un logro que ya logró Guardiola con el FC Barcelona en 2009 y que es aún más singular en Inglaterra, donde solo el United lo había logrado hasta ahora, en la temporada 1998-1999, con Sir Alex Ferguson en el banquillo.
