En cambio, el criterio de las manos varió inexplicablemente en los minutos finales. Con el Barça agobiado y con prisas, la segunda polémica arbitral. Ni el árbitro ni el VAR vieron unas manos claras de Dumfries dentro del área al intentar despejar un balón. La transformación de la pena máxima hubiera podido dar el empate.
En el club azulgrana mostraron su indignación ante la UEFA, pero las protestas quedaron cayeron en saco roto.
