Franck Kessie es uno de los jugadores de la actual plantilla del FC Barcelona cuyo hipotético traspaso dejaría un beneficio neto en el club. El centrocampista marfileño llegó en verano de 2022 al Camp Nou tras acabar contrato con el Milan, equipo en el que fue pieza clave para hacerle campeón del 'scudetto' tras once temporadas de sequía. Su primera temporada como azulgrana ha traído también la reconquista del título de Liga para el Barça, aunque en este caso desde un papel más auxiliar que como 'rossonero'. Con todo, Kessie marcó el gol más recordado del campeonato, el que le endosó al Real Madrid en el último minuto del Clásico del Camp Nou y virtualmente aseguró el título culé. Según apuntan diversos medios internacionales, Kessie es uno de los nombres relacionados con la reestructuración del Liverpool tras su decepcionante curso.
Liverpool Echo recogió esta posibilidad, una vez que el portal Inter Live daba cuenta de que el Inter de Milán, otro de los equipos que durante la temporada se han interesado por Kessie, tendría difìcil optar a su fichaje dado que desde Anfield se estaría preparando una oferta de 35 millones de euros por el internacional marfileño.
Kessie ya estuvo en la agenda del Liverpool cuando enfilaba su última temporada de contrato con el Milan y ahora resurge como objetivo. Con 28 participaciones en partidos de Liga con el FC Barcelona, aunque solamente siete de ellas como titular, y un total de tres goles y tres asistencias en competición oficial en lo que va de curso, Kessie siempre ha dicho que su voluntad es continuar en el Barça. A sus 26 años tiene contrato hasta 2026.
