A diferencia del año pasado, cuando la Juventus se llevó el mayor botín a pesar de quedar subcampeona, esta temporada sí, el Real Madrid será líder de ingresos en la Champions tras conquistar su decimotercera Copa de Europa. A falta de que la UEFA haga oficiales las cifras en los próximos meses, la temporada en la máxima competición continental reportará a las arcas blancas unos 87,1 millones de euros, a los que sumará además otros 4 millones por haberse impuesto el pasado mes de agosto en Skopie al Manchester United en la Supercopa de Europa.
Esos 87,1 millones de euros son una estimación prudente de los ingresos totales. De esa cantidad, 55,23 millones de euros son premios deportivos. El Real Madrid ingresó 12,7 millones de euros del bonus fijo por participar en la fase de grupos, al que sumó unos 7,03 M€ por sus resultados (cuatro victorias y un empate). Después, añadió 6 M€ por clasificarse para octavos, 6,5 M€ por estar en cuartos, 7,5 por alcanzar las semifinales, 11 M€ por llegar a la final y 4,5 M€ adicionales por proclamarse campeón.
Por otro lado, están los ingresos del conocido como market pool, una bolsa de unos 500 millones de euros que se reparten entre los equipos de cada federación en función del peso de su país en los ingresos audiovisuales. En una estimación a la baja basada en las dos temporadas anteriores, los cuatro equipos españoles se repartirán unos 87 millones de euros. Considerando esa cifra (estimada, insistimos) el Real Madrid se llevaría unos 31,9 millones de euros. La cantidad se desglosa en 17,4 M€ por haber accedido a esta Champions como campeón de LaLiga Santander en las 2016-2017 y 14,5 M€ por los partidos jugados en la máxima competición continental esta temporada.
Por detrás del Madrid quedarían en ingresos Liverpool, Juventus y Roma. A falta de afinar lo que le correspondería de market pool a cada uno, sus ingresos estarían en una horquilla de entre 76 y 79 millones. Más alejado ya estaría el Bayern, quinto con 69 millones. Por lo que respecta los equipos españoles, el Barcelona (10º) ingresaría unos 57 millones, el Sevilla (11º) 47,5 M€ y el Atlético (17º), unos 31,75 M€. Los rojiblancos, además, añadirán a sus ganancias europeas las cantidades de la Europa League en premios (10,35 M€) y market pool.
El Real Madrid ha ganado 776 millones de euros en la era Champions
Con los ingresos de esta temporada, el Real Madrid se afianza como el club que más dinero ha ganado en la historia de la Champions League, desde que en la temporada 1992-1993 se implantó el nuevo formato de la competición con la actual denominación. Con esta estimación de 87,1 millones de euros, el club blanco sumaría 776,6 millones de euros de ganancias en el acumulado de estas 26 ediciones celebradas, de las que ha ganado siete. Le seguiría el Bayern Múnich (dos títulos), con unos 742,5 M€ y tercero sería el Barcelona (cuatro veces campeón) con 693,2 M€. El Atlético ha ganado 299,2 y el Valencia, que, como los rojiblancos, ha estado en dos finales, 228,1 M€.
