El argentino Germán Ezequiel Cano, un viejo conocido de la liga colombiana, acercó este martes al Fluminense a la fase 3 de la Copa Libertadores al darle el triunfo por 1-2 en Bogotá ante el Millonarios, que jugó más de 70 minutos con uno menos y erró un penalti cuando el encuentro iba 1-1.
Además de Cano, máximo goleador histórico del Independiente Medellín, por el Flu anotó el central David Braz, mientras que los capitalinos se habían ido en ventaja con un tanto del venezolano Eduardo Sosa, que fue expulsado por doble amonestación en el minuto 18.
Los anfitriones salieron a atacar desde el primer momento a sus rivales y con ese dominio inicial abrieron el marcador en el minuto 6 en un contragolpe en el que David Silva recibió el balón en el borde del área, se lo devolvió al habilidoso Daniel Ruiz y este filtró un pase a Sosa, que mandó un derechazo con el que venció a Fabio.
El equipo colombiano mantuvo el ímpetu y dominó durante los minutos iniciales a su rival, que lució estancado e hizo llegar muy pocos balones en ese tramo a Luiz Hernique, Fred y Willian Bigode, que precisamente sacó el primer remate de su equipo en el 16'.
Sin embargo, todo cambió cuando Sosa, que había sido amonestado en un choque con el veterano Felipe Melo, recibió la segunda amarilla por un manotazo en el área rival sobre Bigode y dejó a su equipo con 10 en el minuto 18.
Así pues, el conjunto de Abel Braga tomó confianza con el paso de los minutos y logró igualar en el minuto 42 en una jugada en la que el portero Álvaro Montero dio un rebote que aprovecharon sus rivales para mandar el balón al fondo de la red de la mano de Braz.
Para el segundo tiempo, el Fluminense, liderado en ataque por Cano que reemplazó en la etapa inicial al lesionado Fred, salió a atacar pero fue su rival el que encontró un penalti cuando Ruiz fue derribado en el área por Yago Felipe. Pero Silva lanzó y Fabio atajó, lo que le dio un nuevo aire a un equipo que, a pesar de tener uno más en la cancha, sufrió más de lo esperado ante un rival aguerrido que trató de ganar el partido pese a la adversidad.
Sin embargo, esa forma de atacar fue la que propició el 1-2 definitivo para el Fluminense, que en un contragolpe liderado por Matheus Martinelli, encontró solo al veloz Luiz Henrique que vio llegar a Cano en la zona central del área y le pasó el balón para que celebrara su primer gol en esta edición de la Libertadores.
Con este resultado, todo se definirá en la vuelta, que se disputará el 1 de marzo en el estadio de São Januário. El equipo que se clasifique tendrá que jugar una eliminatoria más para estar en la fase de grupos, en la que enfrentará al ganador de la eliminatoria entre Olimpia y Atlético Nacional.
