El Atlético Mineiro goleó este miércoles por 3-0 al Corinthians, se mantuvo en la cima de la clasificación del Campeonato Brasileño con diez puntos de ventaja sobre su inmediato perseguidor, el Palmeiras, y dio otro firme paso hacia el título a falta de siete jornadas para el final.
Con anotaciones del hispano-brasileño Diego Costa, el veterano goleador Hulk y Keno, el Atlético suma 68 puntos en 31 partidos y no sólo mantiene sus diez puntos de ventaja sobre el Palmeiras sino que aumentó a 14 la distancia que lo separa del Flamengo (tercero, con 54 puntos), campeón de las dos últimas ediciones.
El actual campeón tiene dos partidos menos y puede reducir la distancia del líder a 8 puntos en caso de imponerse en ambos, pero viene enfrentando una etapa irregular y en su último partido tan sólo consiguió un empate con el colista Chapecoense.
El Mineiro, en cambio, no sólo confirma su buena fase a cada partido y refuerza su favoritismo, ahora con una sólida victoria sobre el popular Corinthians (sexto con 47 puntos), sino que impuso un nuevo récord: 13 victorias consecutivas como anfitrión en partidos por la Liga, algo no conseguido por ningún otro club en la historia del Campeonato Brasileño.
El conjunto de Belo Horizonte ha conquistado 43 puntos de los 48 que disputó en su estadio, el Mineirao, en donde este miércoles fue apoyado por cerca de 60.000 hinchas, casi los mismos que el domingo pasado y que le permiten contar con los dos mayores públicos del Campeonato Brasileño desde que los estadios fueron totalmente abiertos tras la pandemia de la covid.
El Mineiro dominó nuevamente el partido en casa y abrió el marcador a los 13 minutos del primer tiempo con un golazo de Diego Costa, el exjugador del Atlético de Madrid que se destacó por sus asistencias gracias a que el Corinthians estaba más preocupado en marcar a Hulk.
El Mineiro ni sintió la falta del centrocampista argentino Nacho Fernández, uno de sus principales jugadores y que fue vetado por los médicos tras quejarse de dolores musculares, ya que Keno también destacó y anotó el segundo gol para los locales. El tercero casi al final del partido fue de autoría del internacional Hulk, que empata con Gilberto en el primer lugar de la lista de goleadores con doce dianas.
El Palmeiras no tiene rival en el Goianiense
En otro de los partidos por la trigésima primera jornada el Palmeiras se impuso sin sorpresas por 4-0 en casa al Atlético Goianiense con goles de Rony, Raphael Veiga, Gustavo Scarpa y Breno Lopes, y se mantuvo en el segundo lugar de la clasificación.
El conjunto verde de Sao Paulo, dirigido por el portugués Abel Ferreira, volvió a aprovechar un partido de la Liga para prepararse para la final de la Copa Libertadores, en la que se medirá en dos semanas con el Flamengo en partido único en Montevideo en el que intentará retener el título que conquistó el año pasado.
El Santos venció por 2-0 al Bragantino con goles de Marinho y del uruguayo Carlos Sánchez y se alejó de los últimos cuatro en la clasificación, que son castigados con el descenso a la segunda división.
Marinho, uno de las figuras del Santos en la campaña que le permitió llegar a la final de la Copa Libertadores el año pasado, puso fin a una sequía de cuatro meses y dieciséis partidos sin anotar y consiguió su quinto gol en el Campeonato Brasileño y el octavo en la temporada. Marinho, además sufrió un penalti al final del partido que Sánchez se encargó de transformar en el segundo gol del Santos.
La derrota dejó al Bragantino estacionado en el cuarto lugar tras haber sido una de las grandes sorpresas de la temporada. El nuevo traspiés ya preocupa a la comisión técnica del Bragantino, que ha sufrido tres derrotas seguidas a menos de diez días de disputar la final de la Copa Sudamericana con el también brasileño Athletico Parananese.
