El equipo luso puede asegurarse depender de sí mismo dependiendo de lo que suceda también en el duelo Liverpool-Atlético.
El grupo B de la Liga de Campeones se completará con el partido que el AC Milan y el Porto disputarán en San Siro. En realidad, el duelo entre italianos y portugueses se disputará antes de que el Atlético y el Liverpool salten a Anfield, con lo que en justicia habría que decir que el duelo entre ‘Rossoneri’ y ‘Dragoes’ será el que abra esta jornada en el segundo de los grupos de Champions.
Sea como sea, lo que nadie le quita a italianos y lusos es que su partido será casi a vida o muerte. Mucho más para los locales. El equipo de Stefano Pioli suma tres derrotas en tres partidos a pesar de haber mostrado uno de los mejores juegos de todos los equipos. Y todo a expensas de lo que suceda en el partido del Atlético. Si los ‘Dragones’ toman San Siro y los de Simeone no vencen en Anfield Road, los de Sergio Conceiçao dependerían de sí mismos puesto que la fase de grupos se cerrará precisamente ante el Atlético (entre medias les quedaría una visita a Liverpool pero los de Klopp podrían estar ya clasificados y como primeros de grupo).

El Milan necesitará de todas sus virtudes en la fase de vuelta de la Champions League para aspirar a volver a los dos primeros puestos o, en su defecto, alcanzar el tercero, sinónimo de la Europa.
Un empate ante el Porto puede mantener una esperanza mínima pero sólo una victoria les colocaría en posición de soñar.
El técnico del AC Milan, Stefano Pioli, dijo que es plenamente consciente de que su equipo no tendrá más oportunidades en la Liga de Campeones esta temporada si no gana. “No tenemos que pensar en otros partidos, es la última oportunidad", dijo Pioli en su conferencia de prensa del martes. “Creemos que todavía podemos hacerlo (llegar a los octavos de final). Tenemos las cualidades para detener esta racha negativa de resultados. Merecimos más puntos, es cierto, pero estamos en cero en la clasificación, tenemos un partido para arreglarlo”, señaló.
Pioli no podrá contar con Tiemoué Bakayoko, Samu Castillejo, Ante Rebic, Mike Maignan ni Junior Messias, lesionados. Mientras que Florenzi es duda por unas molestias.
Por su parte, el Porto llega a la cita con las buenas sensaciones de su marcha en la liga lusa, que comanda ahora mismo con ocho victorias y dos empates, cinco de esos triunfos en los últimos cinco partidos. El Porto no podrá tener a Marchesín, lesionado de larga duración; además de Uribe y Wendell, también con problemas físicos.
