El día en el que debutaba el trío mágico formado por Messi, Neymar y Mbappé, los parisinos no pudieron pasar del empate ante un rival que mereció más.
El primer aviso del PSG en la Champions ha llegado más pronto de lo normal. Los parisinos, que se veían muy favoritos hoy ante el Brujas, no pudieron pasar del empate en Bélgica en un partido que expuso al máximo las carencias de un equipo que no defendió con el trío formado por Messi, Neymar y Mbappé. Ander Herrera adelantó a los de Pochettino y Vanaken puso las tablas en el marcador.
El principal aliciente del partido, más allá de la titularidad de Keylor y la suplencia de Donnarumma, era la expectación por ver el trío mágico formado por Mbappé, Messi y Neymar. La “MNM”, término con el que se les ha bautizado en Francia, salió de inicio por primera vez en toda la temporada en un partido que suponía la puesta a punto de uno de los máximos favoritos a ganar la Champions League esta temporada. Brujas era la primera parada del espectacular trinomio que podía hacer historia en París.
El PSG volvió a la cruda realidad en la Champions League. Si en la Ligue 1 arrasa simplemente por nombre y calidad de la plantilla, en Europa la historia es otra cosa. Pese a la superioridad sobre el Brujas, los parisinos se dieron cuenta muy pronto de que van a sufrir mucho esta temporada si los tres de ataque no ayudan a defender. Aunque el 0-1 de Ander Herrera preveía una noche muy tranquila para los de Pochettino, el Brujas, que es un equipo de mucha calidad, sobre todo con el talentoso Noa Lang, expuso al máximo las carencias de tener un equipo que defiende con siete jugadores. Aun así, Messi tuvo el 0-2 con un disparo marca de la casa que se estrelló en el larguero.
Los de Clement empataron gracias a un gran gol de Vanaken que evidenció la falta de ayudas de los centrocampistas en cada ataque rival. A partir de entonces, los belgas fueron una apisonadora que pudieron incluso aumentar la renta antes del descanso, pero un inconmensurable Keylor lo evitó con dos grandes paradas.
Si el partido ya era complicado para el PSG, la lesión de Mbappé en el inicio de la segunda mitad fue un jarro de agua fría para Pochettino, que ajustó tras el descanso dando entrada a Danilo y Draxler para compensar los problemas defensivos. En vez de achantarse, el Brujas fue poco a poco atacando todavía más y hubo un tramo en el encuentro en el que los belgas parecían el PSG y el conjunto parisino a la inversa, ya que no pudieron salir de su campo ante la asfixiante presión rival.
La entrada de Nuno Mendes por Diallo le permitió al PSG oxigenarse en ataque. El portugués generó dos ocasiones claras, una de Messi que falló incomprensiblemente en la frontal y otra de Icardi que intentó un taconazo, pero su maniobra salió desviada. Un serio aviso para el PSG, que se enfrentará al Manchester City en la segunda jornada en un partido más que trascendental para la clasificación como primero de grupo a los octavos de final de la máxima competición continental.
