El Celtic de Glasgow acaba de publicar una nota en su página web en la que informa que los aficionados del equipo escocés no podrán asistir el próximo jueves 16 de septiembre al estadio Benito Villamarín, para el partido de la 1ª jornada de la fase de grupos de la Europa League contra el Real Betis, a pesar de que hace escasos días la UEFA anunció que reservarían el 5% de las localidades de cada estadio para las aficiones visitantes, si las autoridades locales de cada país daban su visto bueno.
El Real Betis ha trasladado a la directiva del Celtic que la Junta de Andalucía -última responsable en este asunto- no ha dado el visto bueno a la presencia de aficionados llegados desde Escocia en las gradas del Benito Villamarín, por lo que insta a sus aficionados a que cancelen los viajes previstos y soliciten la devolución de las entradas ya adquiridas.
En estos momentos, miles de aficionados béticos estaban haciendo gestiones y organizando viajes de todo tipo para acudir a Glasgow al partido de la última jornada de la fase de grupos de la Europa League, aunque después de esta noticia está por ver que las autoridades escocesas permitan el acceso de los aficionados desde España para el choque que debe jugarse el jueves 11 de diciembre en Celtic Park, con capacidad para más de 60.000 espectadores.
La nota del Celtic
La nota que ha hecho pública este viernes a primera hora de la tarde el Celtic es la siguiente:
"Lamentamos anunciar que en los últimos 30 minutos el Real Betis nos ha informado de que ya no pueden aceptar aficionados visitantes para el partido contra el Celtic la semana que viene, el jueves 16 de septiembre.
El Betis ha indicado al Celtic que la autoridad local en España ha declarado que los aficionados visitantes no podrán asistir al partido.
La responsabilidad de asesorar a los clubes visitantes sobre la venta de entradas y la aceptación de los aficionados que viajan recae en el club local en las competiciones de la UEFA. Desde que se realizó el sorteo, le hemos pedido al Betis que confirme si aceptará a los fans del Celtic en este partido.
A primera hora de la tarde del miércoles, el Betis confirmó que aceptará aficionados del Celtic para este partido y el Club ha estado trabajando duro para intentar encontrar la forma de cumplir con los requisitos establecidos para admitir a los aficionados del Celtic en este partido.
Por lo tanto, es extremadamente decepcionante que me digan hace unos momentos que el Betis ya no podrá admitir fanáticos del Celtic en este partido.
Si bien este asunto está totalmente fuera del control del Celtic, entendemos completamente la decepción que sentirán los fans del Celtic que planean asistir. Donde sea que juguemos, contamos con el mejor apoyo en grandes números y es una decepción para todos los involucrados en el Celtic y el equipo que no podamos tener a nuestros fans con nosotros cuando visitemos la ciudad de Sevilla nuevamente.
