A pesar de que tan solo pasó un año desde aquel fatídico 2-8 en Portugal, los componentes del cuadro bávaro hablaron con respeto de un Barcelona al que siguen considerando un rival peligroso a pesar de la marcha de Leo Messi. Éstas fueron las reacciones al sorteo en el Allianz Arena:
El director general, Oliver Kahn: "Un grupo de Liga de Campeones emocionante y un reto exigente para nosotros. Tengo muchas ganas de estas grandes noches y del regreso a Lisboa, donde ya hicimos historia una vez. Naturalmente, queremos clasificarnos a octavos de final como primeros de grupo".
El director general deportivo, Hasan Salihamidžić: "¡Tengo muchas ganas de jugar este grupo! Es muy atractivo. En el mejor de los casos, queremos clasificarnos como primeros a octavos de final. El Barcelona es otro equipo sin Messi, pero tienen a muy, muy buenos jugadores en sus filas. Va a ser un fantástico duelo en cualquier caso. El Benfica es un club tradicional con un nombre prestigioso, que siempre saca a buenos jugadores y que tiene una muy buena cantera. El Dynamo es campeón del doblete en Ucrania y no se les puede subestimar. Es un reto interesante que queremos superar".
Manuel Neuer: "No nos podemos permitir ningún fallo en este grupo, todos son rivales muy fuertes. Al Barcelona lo tenemos todos muy presente desde 2020, sin Messi también será un reto difícil. El Benfica juega muy bien, allí siempre reina un fantástico ambiente. Al Dynamo no podemos subestimarlo en ningún caso, es un equipo muy combativo. En cualquier caso, tengo muchas ganas de jugar este grupo y de estos duelos con grandes equipos de Europa".
Thomas Müller: "Nos han tocado tres participantes muy tradicionales e históricos de la Liga de Campeones. Tengo muchas ganas de enfrentarme a estos equipos, los cuales pueden jugar muy bien al fútbol. El mejor recuerdo lo tenemos del FC Barcelona de los cuartos de final de 2020, fue una fantástica experiencia en Lisboa para el FC Bayern. También tenemos que estar muy atentos contra el Benfica y el Dynamo. Cuando pienso en Kiev, se me viene inmediatamente a la mente el fantástico gol de Mario Basler en las semifinales de 1999, el cual abrió en aquel entonces el camino a la final".
Joshua Kimmich: "Definitivamente, es un grupo muy ambicioso. El Barcelona va a suponer un gran desafío con tantos buenos jugadores. Tenemos muchas ganas, van a ser dos grandes partidos. El Benfica tiene un buen equipo, es tácticamente flexible y son difíciles de jugar. El Dynamo Kiev es el campeón ucraniano, un hueso igualmente y al que tenemos que enfrentarnos con total concentración. En general, la exigencia debe ser clasificarnos como primero de grupo".
