Van tres días desde su inicio y ya hay más de 52 contagios.
"La CONMEBOL diseñó un protocolo sanitario que actualmente tiene una efectividad superior al 99%", así presentaba la Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol su protocolo para el desarrollo de la Copa América, algo que contrasta con los 52 contagios que hay actualmente en las diferentes selecciones de la competición.
La Copa América vive una situación complicada producto del Covid-19, a sólo tres días luego de haber dado el puntapié inicial. Ya son cuatro los países afectados: Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia y Perú, donde hay un total de 33 futbolistas y 19 miembros de las delegaciones que dieron positivo pese a tomar todas las medidas correspondientes.
¿Cuál es el protocolo de la Conmebol?
Desde un comienzo se puso en duda la realización del torneo pero la organización insistió en que el evento iba sí o sí. De ahí surgió el protocolo de la Conmebol que obliga a las delegaciones a mantenerse en una burbuja sanitaria para resguardar la salud de cada uno de sus integrantes, higiene en los entrenamientos y pruebas obligatorias de Covid-19.
Ingreso y salida de Brasil
"Para el ingreso al país anfitrión, cada miembro de delegación oficial deberá cargar al portal médico 24 horas antes del viaje, el resultado su prueba PCR con fecha de toma de muestra no mayor a 48 horas previas al vuelo. En ningún caso serán admitidas personas con resultado positivo o indeterminado. Durante la estadía, las delegaciones oficiales deberán permanecer aisladas de personas externas a modo de reducir la posibilidad de contagio. Asimismo, ninguna persona ajena a la burbuja de cada seleccionado podrá ingresar a los entrenamientos y concentraciones, minimizando al máximo la exposición de los jugadores", comunicaba la Confederación.
Una de las primeras selecciones afectadas fue Venezuela que, al aterrizar en Brasil un día antes de su debut, se encontró con la sorpresa de 13 miembros contagiados, donde resaltan 8 futbolistas. Bajas sensibles para el partido de la Vinotinto que terminó perdiendo 0-3 ante los locales.
De ahí vendría el caso de Bolivia, Perú y Colombia, respectivamente. Una situación que de a poco se empezó a salir de las manos, pese a que la Conmebol se encargó de repartir vacunas a todos los miembros de los países involucrados y de gestionar todo el proceso sanitario.
Si bien las selecciones contarían con una sede propia en el transcurso de la Copa América, Argentina decidió no aferrarse a eso y gestionar sus propios vuelos para no permanecer mucho tiempo en el país organizador. Así, la albiceleste viaja a Brasil cada vez que disputa un partido y al término de éste se va directamente a Ezeiza, lugar donde concentra el combinado.
Aún quedan 24 días de competición y ya hay más de 50 casos en un torneo que desde el principio fue cuestionado por sus mismos protagonistas. El último fue Marcelo Moreno Martins, que criticó duramente a la Conmebol por las consecuencias que se están generando dentro y fuera de la cancha.
Un protocolo que hasta el momento no ha funcionado y tampoco garantiza un "99% de efectividad", dejando en el limbo lo que pueda ocurrir durante los próximos días en esta nueva edición de la Copa América 2021.
