Colón celebra su primer título oficial en cien años de historia
Argentina tiene un nuevo campeón. Uno nuevo por partida doble: Colón de Santa Fe se impuso con contundencia a Racing en la final (3-0) en el estadio Bicentenario de San Juan, se quedó así con la Copa de la Liga Profesional y celebra por todo lo alto el primer título oficial de su centenaria historia.
El ‘Sabalero’ añade así su nombre a las grandes páginas de gloria del fútbol argentino. Por la conquista, por supuesto, pero también por las formas: un grupo convencido de la idea de su entrenador, Eduardo Domínguez, dispuesto a tirar del carro sin detenerse en las individualidades y a pelear cada pelota como si fuera la última, pero también a jugarla cada vez que se pudiera.
Con esas armas, el equipo que viste de rojo y negro se convirtió en la gran revelación del certamen durante la fase de grupos (acabó primero en el A) y no falló en los duelos mano a mano: pasó a Talleres en los penaltis en cuartos y después se cargó en fila a los dos gigantes de Avellaneda (2-0 a Independiente antes de este triunfo sobre Racing).
De esta manera, además de bordar su primera estrella en el escudo en 116 años de vida, Colón se toma revancha de lo sucedido en 2019, cuando llegó sorpresivamente a la final de la Copa Sudamericana pero nada pudo hacer ante el ecuatoriano Independiente del Valle, que lo dejó con las manos vacías.
En el marco de un duelo equilibrado, el que impuso condiciones en la primera parte fue Colón, sobre todo por la banda derecha, desde donde gestó las mejores opciones en base a una presión por momentos agobiante en el centro del campo.
Con un Racing de a ratos realmente ahogado en esa zona de la cancha, Colón, con la buena conexión Castro-Bernardi-Aliendro, se arrimó varias veces con peligro sobre el área rival, aunque no llegó a tener oportunidades netas contra el meta Gómez.
A los de Pizzi, por su parte, muy retrasados en el terreno, no les quedó más opción que dar batalla defensiva en campo propio y apostar a alguna contra, como la que tuvo cerca del cierre de la etapa inicial, que no fue más sólo porque frenó en el último esfuerzo el recorte de Piatti, que lo hubiera dejado solo frente al portero Burián.
Racing cambia, el campeón lo liquida
Consciente del panorama, el ‘Macanudo’ metió mano en el entretiempo (Moreno saltó al campo en lugar de Cvitanich) pero no solo en cuanto a nombres. También, y fundamentalmente, en el posicionamiento de su equipo en el campo. Adelantado varios metros con respecto al primer tiempo y dispuesto a luchar de igual a igual en la presión, Racing logró incomodar a su rival en la salida y así equilibró el juego.
Sin embargo, cuando la ‘Academia’ comenzaba a hacer pie en el juego y parecía que se hacía dueña por primera vez, en el 58’ llegó el tanto que adelantó a Colón: una buena combinación de pases, otra vez por derecha, terminó con un muy buen centro de Mura que Aliendro, de primera, mandó al fondo de la red de zurda, anticipándose en el primer palo.
Obligado a ir a buscar la igualdad, Racing se adelantó definitivamente y quedó expuesto los contraataques de su rival, que en el 71’ dejó prácticamente sentenciado el duelo: Bernardi inició una maniobra individual por izquierda y después de dos regates descargó para Leguizamón que, con la pausa justa, devolvió la pared perfecta para que el centrocampista definiera con un exquisita vaselina ante la salida de Gómez.
Aunque intentó tirar de empuje y entusiasmo, desde allí y hasta el final poco pudo hacer el equipo de Pizzi. De hecho, siempre estuvo más cerca el tercero del campeón que el descuento de la ‘Academia’, algo que se concretó en el 86’ por medio de una muy buena definición de zurda de Alexis Castro.
El “dale campeón” ya sonaba bien alto desde el banquillo ‘Sabalero’. Se cantó en la noche de San Juan y se cantará por días en buena parte de la provincia de Santa Fe.
