“Es el club con el que soñé desde el inicio de mi carrera, es el fruto de mi trabajo y estoy feliz”, explicó el lateral en la concentración de la selección brasileña
El lateral derecho Emerson Royal, que militó esta temporada en el Betis y está concentrado con la selección brasileña para los partidos con Ecuador y Paraguay, de la fase de clasificación del Mundial de Qatar 2022, dio por hecho que jugará en el Barcelona la próxima campaña.
“Con certeza. Todos saben que tengo un contrato con el Barcelona a partir del 1 de julio. Tengo un contrato de tres años con el Barcelona. Y, como lo ha dicho la prensa, el Barcelona ya entró en contacto con el Betis y anunció que quiere contar conmigo para la próxima temporada”, afirmó este viernes en una rueda de prensa que concedió desde la concentración de la selección brasileña.
Los derechos federativos del lateral brasileño pertenecen en conjunto al Betis y al Barcelona, que los adquirieron del Atlético Mineiro, pero el acuerdo estipula que el jugador actuaría las dos primeras temporadas en el equipo andaluz y las otras tres en el club catalán.
El Barcelona, que busca desde hace tiempo un lateral derecho de garantías, se ha mostrado dispuesto a pagar lo que le corresponde, cerca de 9 millones de euros, para contar con Emerson a partir de la próxima temporada.
“Estoy feliz (con el anticipo de la transferencia) porque es el club con el que soñé jugar desde el inicio de mi carrera. Tener ese reconocimiento es fundamental para mí. Todos los jugadores quieren ser contratados por el Barcelona. Quiero llegar lo antes posible e intentar mostrar mi trabajo y confirmarme en mi posición”, aseguró.
Emerson afirmó que tiene contrato con el Barcelona y que quiere cumplirlo: “El Barcelona manifestó interés en contar conmigo la próxima temporada. Es excelente para un futbolista contar con el reconocimiento de un club como Barcelona. Eso es fruto de mi trabajo y, si Dios lo quiere, voy a estar con el Barcelona en la próxima temporada”, concluyó.
La selección brasileña está concentrada desde el jueves en la Granja Comary, en Teresópolis, para prepararse para los partidos con Ecuador, el 4 de junio en Porto Alegre, y con Paraguay, cuatro días después en Asunción.
