Gabriele Gravina, presidente de la Federación de Fútbol de Italia, manifestó este lunes que la Juventus será expulsada de la Serie A si no abandona la Superliga. Mientras que el Milan y el Inter ya se retiraron del proyecto (del que eran fundadores, junto a la Juve y otros nueve clubs), el club turinés no lo ha hecho.
“Las reglas son claras. Si la Juventus aún forma parte de la Superliga cuando empiece la proxima temporada, no podrá participar en la Serie A”, manifestó Gravina al canal radiofónico de Napoles Kiss Kiss.
“Lo sentiría por los aficionados de la Juventus, pero las normas son las normas y se aplican a todo el mundo. Pero espero que este apoyo a la Superliga se acabe pronto”, añadió Gravina. Real Madrid y Barcelona so, junto a la Juventus, los únicos que están aún en el proyecto de la Superliga, pese al riesgo de ser excluidos de la Champions League.
La Superliga fue creada el pasado 18 de abril, con 12 clubs como fundadores: por la Premier, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City y Tottenham, que ante la oposición generalizada, en especial de los aficionados ingleses y del Gobierno del Reino Unido, se retiraron del proyecto 48 horas después, el 20 de abril. Por LaLiga, Real Madrid (su gran impulsor), Barcelona y Atlético. Más Juve, Milan e Inter.
Los ‘Big Six’ de la Premier ya firmaron, al igual que Atlético, Milan e Inter, un compromiso con la UEFA para participar solo en las competiciones que organiza la misma y recibiendo un 5 por ciento de los ingresos de las mismas en la temporada.
Hasta algunos directivos de los clubs fundadores, como Paolo Maldini, director deportvo del Milan, manifestaron su opinión negativa sobre una Superliga que a su juicio “no respeta el mérito deportivo”.
Una nueva norma
En lo deportivo, la Juventus atraviesa un mal momento tras la derrota por 0-3 del pasado domingo contra el Milan, que supuso para la ‘vecchia signora’ bajar al quinto puesto, a un punto de la zona de Champions. Inter (85 puntos y ya proclamado campeón), Atalanta (72), Milan (72) y Nápoles (70) son los que ahora ocupan las cuatro plazas de la Serie A en dicho eurotorneo.
