Se impuso en Bulgaria en un
partido con poco ritmo y mantiene el pleno de triunfos
La selección de Italia venció
por 2-0 este domingo en su visita a la de Bulgaria, aunque sin convencer y con
poco ritmo, y siguió con el pleno de puntos tras dos jornadas el grupo C de la
fase de clasificación al Mundial de Catar 2022.
Un gol de penalti marcado por
Andrea Belotti al borde del descanso y el primer tanto como internacional
absoluto firmado por Manuel Locatelli a falta de siete minutos para el final
fueron suficientes para salir del estadio Levski de Sofía, en Bulgaria, tierra
en la que los "azzurri" nunca habían ganado en seis precedentes, con
el máximo resultado.
Si el seleccionado de Roberto
Mancini había ganado con un buen juego en su camino hacia la próxima Eurocopa y
a la fase final de la Liga de Naciones UEFA, en la que será rival de España en
semifinales, en los últimos dos partidos no hubo particular espacio para el
espectáculo.
Los "azzurri"
encadenaron su vigésimo cuarto partido consecutivo sin perder y alcanzaron el
objetivo imprescindible, pero necesitan recuperar brillo de cara a la visita
del próximo miércoles a Lituania y, sobre todo, a la Eurocopa de junio.
Tras el 2-0 logrado ante
Irlanda del Norte en su arranque de la fase de grupos, Italia visitó el estadio
Levski de Sofía aportando seis cambios en su once titular. Mancini dio
confianza a Francesco Acerbi, defensa del Lazio, a Stefano Sensi,
centrocampista del Inter de Milán, o a Andrea Belotti, del Torino, quien
sustituyó a Ciro Immobile.
El seleccionado
"azzurro" jugó con bajos ritmos y necesitó una generosa pena máxima
por una falta sobre Belotti al borde del descanso para desbloquear el partido y
derrumbar el muro de la defensa búlgara. El delantero del Torino se encargó de
la transformación, cruzó el disparo y superó al meta búlgaro para subir el 1-0
al marcador.
Tanto en la primera como en la
segunda mitad dominaron las protestas y los errores técnicos por encima del
buen juego. Italia siguió falta de cambio de ritmo y Bulgaria cogió poco a poco
confianza hasta llegar a asustar a los "azzurri" en algunas
situaciones.
El seleccionado búlgaro
protestó por un posible penalti por un toque con una mano de Stefano Sensi en
el área y lo mismo hizo Italia por una falta de Valentin Antov a Belotti. En
ambos casos, el árbitro, que no podía contar con la ayuda del VAR, decidió no
conceder penas máximas.
Los de Mancini tuvieron que
esperar hasta el 83 antes de sentenciar definitivamente el partido y lo
hicieron con un buen disparo curvado de Locatelli a pase de Lorenzo Insigne.
La diana del centrocampista
del Sassuolo alivió a Italia, cuyo triunfo pudo ser más abultado de no perdonar
Ciro Immobile, entrado en los últimos minutos, dos grandes oportunidades.
Si el juego sigue sin ser
espectacular, las buenas noticias para Italia llegaron una vez más desde la
defensa, que acabó su quinto partido seguido sin recibir dianas.
