El futuro de Diego Costa parece volver a estar cada vez más cerca de Europa. Desde hace semanas se informa del interés del Benfica por hacerse con los servicios del exjugador del Atlético, que rescindió su contrato con el club rojiblanco el pasado diciembre alegando motivos familiares (había disputado siete partidos y marcado dos goles).
Durante estos meses ha estado residiendo en su Lagarto (Brasil) natal sin competir con ningún club, pero la próxima temporada se le espera de vuelta en el fútbol de élite. Y Mundo Deportivo adelanta un principio de acuerdo para que Costa juegue en el Benfica la próxima temporada. La oferta pasaría por tres millones de prima por el fichaje y otros tres por cada una de las temporadas que firme. Todo ello si el delantero no acaba cambiando de opinión antes de que llegue la fecha de incorporarse al club lisboeta.
Costa ya conoce la liga portuguesa. Fue su primera experiencia europea, después de que el Sporting de Braga se hiciese con sus servicios siendo todavía menor de edad. Jugó un primer año cedido en el Penafiel antes de que, en su primera temporada formando parte de la plantilla del Braga fuese ojeado y firmado por el Atlético. La vuelta de Costa a Europa parece cada vez más cercana.
