Hace tres años la batalla para el scudetto entre Juventus y Nápoles emocionó hasta el final del campeonato. El 28 de abril, una semana después de la victoria de los sureños en Turín, la Vecchia Signora visitó al Inter en San Siro. Los nerazzurri se quedaron con diez después de apenas 18 minutos y supieron remontar el tempranero gol de Douglas Costa con Icardi y uno en propia puerta de Barzagli. La Vecchia Signora, en los instantes finales del enfrentamiento, aprovechó el cansancio de los milaneses y le dio la vuelta al marcador con Cuadrado e Higuaín, logrando un triunfo decisivo para el título.
En el minuto 58, sin embargo, tuvo lugar un choque entre Pjanic y Rafinha del que todavía se habla. El juventino golpeó en la cara a su rival en un balón disputado, ya había sido amonestado y cometió una falta que, como mínimo, le debería costar otra tarjeta. El árbitro Daniele Orsato, a pocos metros de la jugada, no intervino, y tampoco lo hizo el VAR. La polémica fue enorme y Maurzio Sarri, entrenador Nápoles por aquel entonces, al día siguiente cayó ante la Fiorentina y afirmó que sus jugadores habían perdido “ya en el hotel”, viendo el partido de San Siro.
Si hoy se vuelve a comentar el caso es porque Alfredo Trentalange, nuevo jefe de los árbitros italianos, quiere cambiar la imagen de los trencillas y su revolución empezó con la primera entrevista de un árbitro en activo. Daniele Orsato, entonces, intervino durante el histórico programa de la Rai, '90° Minuto', y comentó así el viejo asunto: "No hace falta volver a ver la jugada, es sin duda un error. Estaba muy cerca y no pude ver bien el choque, lo he juzgado mal. El VAR no podía intervenir (al tratarse de una posible amarilla), y el fallo se quedó". Y desde 2018, tras este partido, Orsato no volvió a dirigir un partido del Inter: "Es cierto, pero yo voy donde me mandan", dijo. El árbitro afirmó que para él "no es un problema reconocer un error" y que el objetivo es seguir trabajando "para que no vuelvan a ocurrir".
Orsato, por último, desveló que Cristiano quiso ver el reloj para saber "cómo funcionaba" cuando, durante el último Juve-Roma, el Ojo de Halcón le negó un tanto, y que no sería un problema mostrar todas las conversaciones con el VAR: "No tenemos nada que esconder”.
