El técnico del Villarreal, muy
satisfecho con el triunfo logrado en Salzburgo
Unai Emery, entrenador del
Villarreal, ha calificado la victoria frente al Red Bull Salzburgo (0-2) como
un “gran victoria”, y un partido clave para “cambiar la mala tendencia de
resultados”, ya que a su juicio era importante dejar atrás “las dudas que tenía el equipo por los últimos
resultados” y “dejarlas atrás con un partido como este”.
Según reconoció en rueda de
prensa, el resultado es “muy bueno”, pero “no decisivo todavía” y hoy era vital
dar un paso más, ya que venían de “una racha en la que estaba costando ganar,
teníamos dudas y debíamos romperlas”.
“Hoy era el día de demostrarlo
con nuestro juego y nuestra personalidad, hemos hecho un partido muy serio y
sobre todo en la primera parte. Por ello satisfechos pero prudentes, ya que
queda el partido de vuelta”, dijo.
Respecto al partido el técnico
valoró como una buena primera parte y una segunda parte de más control: “En la
primera parte hemos estado más seguros y controlando muy bien el juego y el
partido. En la segunda se ha visto que ellos son un buen equipo, nos han
obligado a defender más y lo hemos hecho bien. Además, sabíamos que podíamos
encontrar una contra y así ha sido”, aseguró.
Emery insistió en que el
equipo tenía la intención “de recuperar la confianza y que se olvide esa mala
racha, es algo que debíamos romper nosotros y hemos dado un paso. Eliminar las
dudas era importante y una cosa va con la otra, necesitas ganar y recuperar la
confianza y el juego. Hemos hecho las dos cosas, el juego y el resultado, lo
que nos hace coger más confianza y mejores sensaciones”.Por último y cuestionado
por el penalti de Paco Alcácer, el técnico apuntó que fue una decisión de los
jugadores. “No me sorprende que tire Paco, tenemos especialistas, el orden era
Gerard, Parejo y Alcácer, han decidido ellos y así ha sido. Seguiremos igual,
ellos deciden y ellos son los especialistas”, sentenció.
