de ganar a pesar de llevar la iniciativa durante todo el duelo
Ha mejorado el Fulham, y
mucho, respecto al equipo que era en el primer y el segundo mes de la presente
edición de la Premier League, pero no por ello consigue imponerse en partidos
que, por méritos realizados, debería ganar. El que disputó este sábado es un
claro ejemplo, porque los de Scott Parker hicieron todo lo que tenían que hacer
para superar al West Brom salvo lo de marcar un gol más que el rival, que al
final es lo que marca la diferencia en esto del fútbol. Se adelantó en el
marcador el Fulham, se vio remontado a posteriori, y al final salvó un punto
que sabe a poco (2-2). Uno por el otro, la casa sin barrer y tanto West Brom
como Fulham continúan hundidos (y parece que con difícil remedio) en la zona de
descenso.
El primer tanto del encuentro
llegó en el 10’, cuando el incombustible Bobby Reid, asistido por Mitrovic,
firmó el 0-1 para momentáneamente hacer justicia con un Fulham que había
entrado en el partido ostensiblemente mejor que el West Brom.
Con ese tanteo en el marcador
se llegó al luminoso, incluso reinando en el ambiente la sensación de que
estaba más cerca el 0-2 que el 1-1, pero tras la reanudación los caprichos del
fútbol hicieron que el West Brom voltease el marcador. Empató en el 47’ Kyle
Bartley, casi sin avisar, y en el 66’ consiguió el 2-1 Matheus Pereira, uno de
los pocos de este equipo que no se limitan a quitarse el balón de encima.
Se le hizo raro al West Brom
verse con ventaja en el marcador y volvió a ceder la iniciativa al Fulham, que
en el 76’, por mediación del irreverente Cavaleiro, logró el 2-2 con el que
salvó un punto de su visita a The Hawthorns.
Al final, el incorrectamente
denominado como reparto de puntos y tanto West Brom como Fulham continúan una
semana más en posiciones que les condenan a jugar la Championship la temporada
que viene. Si no cambia la cosa mucho próximamente, así será.
